Well I disagree with this Robbie. The only men who kept harems, or men by virtue of their religion are allowed more than one wife, were and are only able or permitted to do so if they can maintain them financially and ensure they have equal status. These women often become intimate friends and experience no jealousy or possessiveness as is toften he case with traditional relationships.

Perhaps it would work equally well vice versa? A man for every day of the week?

Hiya, Surely to god it would be more sensible for them to build another palace and maintain mental peace.Obviously, i am joking and it was only possible for a man to maintain more than wife was for him to be wealthy.

Now a days its a personal choice, as the mormons profess and as long as nobody is forced into a relationship i have the standpoint of live and let live.

Then again the voice in my head says he must have found Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and all the entrants to miss world to even consider it given the risks and having a dramatically shortened lifespan.

We no longer need a population explosion, we need a reduction in population grown....there arent enough resources on the planet for many more human beings.

rolling on the floor laughing sounds like it could work. But I am ok with just one....

there was a family interviewed, and you are right Jan, seemed it worked out well for them. The women were happy, and the kids called them all mom. Each of the women were able to spend one on one quality time with the hubby.... And they seemed really happy and at peace with each other.

But what if he spends more time with one, and less time with the others.... They may have been acting for the cameras, they were too peaceful.

ok ok.....you got me! I will be 25 in May. wave

My father raised me until he became ill, but he lived a very long life....Most people wouldnt believe me If I were to tell them my dads age.

Growing up with him until my teenaged years, I'd say caused me to think a little different at 14, 15, 16etc... So the kids my age never really took to me, or, maybe mentally, i never took to them. therefore, many of my friends have been a bit older.... This, I think is just a very small part of it....

I love to learn, I've always been the kid to ask "why", like a 4yr old, but even at 24, still fascinated with life, and still have the "why" questions...And even my older friends, even my lawyer and doctor friends can't always satisfy my "whys"...

So, I continue to investigate everything that calls on my attention, and my attentions calls to everything...

i guess... hug

there is a lot of work a lot of give and take in a relationship I cant imagine how you can have anything meaningful with more then one person. It's hard enough to try and fit 2 lives together, with out having other personallities cramed in there too.

There was a recent polyamist convicted in the west. Got a very long prison sentence. But get this he was not convicted of polyamy directly,
but coerion of a marraige of a teen bride that was underage at the time. He forced her to marry a man that was a relative. He then began involved intimately after the so called marriage.

I think that much of this in the US is part of a cult religious environment. Not sure about other parts of the world.

Solomon was said to have some 200 wifes, girlfriends and concumbines. Alot modern cultist will take a religious leader of the past, then use him as a role model for living today.

yep.

"Polygamy has ample sanction in the Bible, having been practiced by King David and King Solomon, the latter of whom had 700 wives. It also has deep roots in the ultra-wholesome Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Early Mormon leader Brigham Young fathered scores of children by his more than 20 wives. The church abandoned plural marriage in 1890 in the face of the federal government's fierce efforts to stamp it out".

I'm a one woman guy. Never dated around, never slept around. To me, I don't see any satisfaction in it.

That being said, if all parties in a polygamist marriage are fine with it, then "to each his own". It's no longer a moral issue at that point if all parties involved are ok with it.

It's just not for me......
