Seeing that phrase brings forth searing emotions that only leave me for want of the past. Not the bullshit that has lead me to my present road. That brought too much pain, anger and contempt. Rather would I have the raw emotion and security I felt in love, the beautiful imperfection that it was.
I agree love is never lost. Instead it is tossed aside like a child's play thing when the reality sets in that life is not perfect. Focus wavers to the seemingly unimportant because we live for our own selfish needs.
In the end, when we come back to the beginning, love is no longer an infinite being between two. There is no reciprocation. There is only the want that remains, the need for fulfillment, and the echo of past triumphs.
*sigh*
And yet I realize that I cherished what moments they were that I had. And for the pain and damnation that they have brought to my soul, I would not trade them.
