have met a few people in person, all lovely peeps. Sex, yes. And it was wonderful. So this site does work to some extent. In reality it's more like a lottery or like a halloween party where everyone is in disguise. We bluster and attempt to impress. It's like a house party full of strangers, telling anyone we meet what we think they want to hear, minus the all important body language and eye contact, which is so important.

On the other hand, we can get to say the most outragious things that we'd never say in person. It's therapy.

True Leo. Some people I've had the pleasure of meeting on CS are amazing to me. Think we're all just trying to connect with something?
Nothing is better than real life friends and loved ones. For some, I think this allows to give a part of ourselves that wants to get out but is lacking somehow/somewhy in real life (maybe for just this moment).
The lack of eye contact, body language is very important and missing only as much as I close my mind to the possibility.
It is therapy and thank GOD for it.

Thank you Leo. handshake

Leo, lately I see that you are frustrated. I have not been able to help you. I want to reach out to you so much. I am geographically far away from you. Besides, we have never interacted. I know nothing about you except that . What's a woman to do?

Ride a Giraffe?? A Zebra? Whatever......

Hi Paws! been a while, long winter!

Been 2 years for me too, although, off on on again, met some peeps in person, been played with, and fooled! But all in all, been fun! Been entertaining at the same time, distance is a big thing for sure, but we keep coming back, for therapy! LOL
Also Paws, ever notice that where we live, there is hardly anyone that lives close to us on here, maybe we should pack up ! confused

Hi Leo! wave

Your "house party full of strangers" is quite an apt analogy. When you think about it, life it'self is like a house party full of strangers - especially considering that everyone is a stranger until you get to know them.

"...minus the all important body language and eye contact, which is so important." Tell that to a blind person. That's what makes this site such a great equalizer; We are all at the same disadvantage in this type of interaction insofaras we are all hindered by the same lack of auditory/visual input. But here - as in life - people represent themselves in the manner in which they wish to be perceived by others. And - as in life - we have to accept what we perceive at face value until proven otherwise.

And you are quite correct that "this site does work to some extent." Again, like real life, different methods/products/services work better for some than for others. I've found true happiness here, while others have struck out miserably. Others have found true happiness on other sites where I failed horribly. My lovely wife prefers one type of product, while another has always worked best for me. In the end, the only thing that will work consistently for everyone is breathing and even that varies from one 'respirateur' to another.

One last 'personal observation' - Coming here may indeed be therapy, but I would never say anything here that I wouldn't say in person. What you see of me here is what you get in real life, just not as tall and smelly... laugh

Hope your day is a wonderful one!

thumbs up
