I loved Oprah in ''The Colour Purple'' crying

And best black male singer for me has to be Otis Redding, hands down bowing

Best black female singer: Aretha Franklin... I just love the energy and spirit of Aretha bowing

Roberta Flack for singer (regardless of color)

I really liked Oprah in "The Color Purple" Multi talented and very generous with her wealth. All around, great talent and a great person.

I don't believe Sidney Poiter was the best but certainly a ground breaker and a great actor. I would have to select Morgan Freeman over him.

For singers.....Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, ... ....there voices are one of a kind, bring back warm memories
For actors....Denzel Washington, Sidney Poitier( enough cannot be said about this man)
Morgan Freeman great for an older actor....Denzel is such an awesome actor, and quite a gentleman
Actress.... Debbie Allen. Phylicia Rashad.......they are superb....light up the screen......they are so talented.

Gilly if you want to put them in category like say the best Rock and Roll, R&B, Pop Country, Classic, then you may get a slightly different answer...but nothing beat my man Lionel Richie in Hello, Michaeal Jackson in Billy Jean..Diana Ross in Endess Love... especially with Lionel Richie.......these are memories you can't replace!
Yes, Tina Turner in Private Dancer........I have to say go girl, because the movement, the dancing the singing...those million dollar legs were worth it Tina.
