thanks SF for your perspective and share

yes any person
a type of believer or not
will be perfect
and blanket statements about 'a group of people' are never tolerated unless its regarding a christian type

its ridiculous
if anyone came on here and said jamaicans are nuts
or retarded people are this
or etc etc
there would be an uproar

people are people
just cuz some have a faith or belif not understood by another has no bearing on its validity

i mean you dont know if i have pubic hair
and i would never ridicule you for your idea on this

its just annoying people feel some free right to cast aspersions on this particular group. and i would stand up if it were any group. i think believers and non believers could agree this is just about problem number one in the world?
people arguing(being distracted by judgements)rather than gettin on with what needs to be taken care of-hunger etc...

its juvenile in my opinion

theres discussion and ridicule
many here are just spitting in the wind
i dont see the point
do people actually feel better than they did a moment ago
after enlightening someone that they are an idiot or weak or
some derisive comment

i say let believers discuss and what would a non believer have to say about it if they dont believe?

do you go up to gang members on a street corner
and join the conversation and tell them in such a sarcastic way that their life is taking them nowhere?

im not angry im just trying to make a point
if we would stand on the common ground and all pull together.

now i must go sing that david bowie song-

Agree totally with Mindfful on this issue.

Well explained.

Let's not forget the saying:

I may not agree with you,

However, I will fight to the death for your right to say so.

That is democracy.

In any event , I am wayyyy too intelligent to believe in ANY external influence. I am proud of the fact I do not allow myself to be brainwashed by my society to believe in some kind of WIZARD in the sky. Religion is just an excuse to create more boundaries in a world where we need less. I dare say if there were no religion the world would be better off not worse off. Look at the animal kingdom , they kill mainly just for dinner or to protect. What religion tells me is that people are stupid and need some kind of spiritual guidelines to do the right thing. What a laugh. Most wars are because of religion, talk about hypocrisy.

Most wars are not because of religion, but for lack of reason.professor
It seems reasonable to me that if people lived by reason instead of faith, a great many tragedies would be averted and an equal number of advances would be made, especially in human behavior.angel

When I say religious nuts. I am referring to those that feel the need to believe they are better than others because of their religious beliefs. Those that DISRESPECT their own so called magnificent diety, by pushing him on others like a cheap politician. I like the fact that I have a mind and I am not brainwashed by society . As I have said , wizardry in the sky seems ridiculous to me. If that is what you believe , than knock yourself out, just leave me the hell alone.
Most murders and wars are based on religion . Here are some examples of that .
HOLOCAUST
911
IRELAND
IRAQ INVASION
ABORTION CLINIC BOMBINGS
ISRAELIS BEING BOMBED BY PALESTINEANS
EXTREMIST GROUPS SUCH AS THE KKK, TALIBAN ETC.
I am sure there are others but these are a few right off the bat. I would take my chance with less boundaries [no religion] than with more boundaries. For crying out loud it could not be any worse. If nothing else , you never have to worry about an atheist doing a kamikaze or a suicide bombing .... WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN AN AFTERLIFE. rolling eyes

I understand what you feel about religion and it is good that you are comfortable with your postion in the world..Yes religion can produce a certain amount of people with views that are placed on others..the majority of wars are infact not a result of religion but rather power and control..religion is often used as a scape goat..
The thread of course is about Gods existence...not religion..we all know religion exists in many different cultures and society has each adopted their own distorted or not so views...
True spirituality and faith are separate somewhat from religion...
I have no need for dogmas and man-made shall-nots..A love for God does not always pidgeon hole or put someone under a certain label...

just because god may not come as you say dosent mean hes not there the bible says god is there he hars all he is everywhere and hes to powerful mighty and awsome to show himself, our mind couldnt comprehend the awe of his holyness but you know when someon prays to him hes listening and it may seem as if hes not there but he is, you just have to listen with your heart, so dose god exist, absolutly he dose, think of it this way if you say god dosent exist just cause you cant see him, then thats like saying dose air exist you cant see it? just beacause you may not belive dosent men he dosent exist.

I just received this and thought it was great, would love to share it with you guys....WHAT A GREAT ANALOGY OF GOD FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW
BY ROBIN WILLIAMS NO LESS

This is one of the best explanations
of why God allows pain and suffering
that I have seen. It's an explanation
other people will understand.

A man went to a barbershop to have
his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work,
They talked about so many things
and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on
the subject of God, the barber said:
'I don't believe that God exists.'

'Why do you say that?'
asked the customer.
'Well, you just have to go out in
the street to realize that God
doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists,
would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither
suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine loving a God who
would allow all of these things.'

The customer thought for a moment,
but didn't respond because he didn't
want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer
left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop,
he saw a man in the street with long,
stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed
beard.
He looked dirty and un-kept.

The customer turned back and entered
the barber shop again and he said
to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'

'How can you say that?'
asked the surprised barber.
'I am here, and I am a barber.
And I just worked on you!'

'No!' the customer exclaimed.
'Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no
people with d irty long hair
and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside.'

'Ah, but barbers DO exist!
What happens is, people
do not come to me.'

'Exactly!'-
affirmed the customer.
'That's the point!
God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people
don't go to Him
and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain
and suffering in the world.'
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING!

'Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet.'

That was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll give an AMEN to that poem..Robin Williams is a very smart man..I love his movies.
Thanks for the thread and May God Bless everyone who reads this poem abundently in ALL areas of life...especially health then discernmentship!

Try to think of it this way Jim...God, The Father of Jesus, who is the begining and end of more than we can interpret created us...HE knows us...He can relate to us..Yet he's so amazingly much much more. So say you you started a friendship with a really cool person...Would you expect only them to do good things for you 100% of the time let alone 80 or 90%. I'm guessing you would at leat give them a chance to talk to you if you knew there was something really cool about this person...Especially a beautiful girl.

God, let alone any human will not continue to give good things to someone who doesn't believe...I've been there too. He wants nothing but good for you in the end so please realise and believe it. He might even do what he did for me..I really pray not) but He gives Satan permission to set you in bad situations just hoping you"ll ask him b4 you fall asleep to help.

He works on everybody different but always remember none of us are perfect nor ever will be...We can only try.
I'll pray He begins his work 4u immediately.
God Bless!

Here's the most common problem Men in particular have a problem dealing with.
The simple thought of a Godly woman puting the Guidlines of a man named Jesus before himself.
How can a man control his woman if he is not worshipped and idolized first?
And Oh No! What if the woman I love get's to heaven and worships our Lord and Savior Jesus and not me.
I understand it's tough to think about but remember...All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us...ALL
Who really knows what'll happen when we get there..And the day will come when we are forced in our entire soul and spirit
to make that decision..trust me..I've been a survivor of 3 near death experiences..So I've almost been in the wrong place dude.
It's not funny.
Another problem is the fear of..Oh Oh, what will my"friends think if I accept the Lord as my personal savior???
What will my familly think??? People usually don't accept positive change as well as negative for others in the worldly,"fleshly" perspective.
Trust me on that.
It's pretty simple to start getting blessed by the Heavenly Father.
First step...Lose the robot mentality if there is one that goes something like this....."What about me What about me What about me yaddayaddayadda."
I pray this note bring you lots of success in all you set out to do.
