BY ROBIN WILLIAMS NO LESS

This is one of the best explanations
of why God allows pain and suffering
that I have seen. It's an explanation
other people will understand.

A man went to a barbershop to have
his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work,
They talked about so many things
and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on
the subject of God, the barber said:
'I don't believe that God exists.'

'Why do you say that?'
asked the customer.
'Well, you just have to go out in
the street to realize that God
doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists,
would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither
suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine loving a God who
would allow all of these things.'

The customer thought for a moment,
but didn't respond because he didn't
want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer
left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop,
he saw a man in the street with long,
stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed
beard.
He looked dirty and un-kept.

The customer turned back and entered
the barber shop again and he said
to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'

'How can you say that?'
asked the surprised barber.
'I am here, and I am a barber.
And I just worked on you!'

'No!' the customer exclaimed.
'Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no
people with d irty long hair
and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside.'

'Ah, but barbers DO exist!
What happens is, people
do not come to me.'

'Exactly!'-
affirmed the customer.
'That's the point!
God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people
don't go to Him
and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain
and suffering in the world.'
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING!

'Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet.'

Love it beautiful!

There's everything going on on the planet...There's terrible things happening and there's MIRACLES happening every second ( see MIRCLES FORUM ) but we've always got a choice. Whatever we focus our attention creates more of the same. If e focus on all the crap it will only create more crap and we can't afford that now as this beautiful planet is at a critical time.
That's why I started the MIRACLES forum as I know from experience that miracles are happening all around us if we onlyy open our eyes.
We can choose to focus our attention on the wonderful things no matter how small they are, and , like a snowball they create more.

HEY.....WE ARE BEING BREATHED RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

Isn't that a miracle;

And we don't even have to think about it!

God, spirit, angels, life force, whatever you want to label it.....
To me it is all the same thing

Love it beautiful

rolling eyes

Our Brains, which art in our heads,
treasured be thy name.
Thy reasoning come.
Thy best you can do be done
on earth as it is.
Give us this day new
insight to help us resolve conflicts and
ease pain.
And lead us not
into supernatural explanations;
deliver us from denial of logic.
For thine is the kingdom of reason,
and even though thy powers are limited,
and you're not always glorious
you are the best evolutionary adaptation
we have for helping this earth now and
forever and ever.
So be it.

peace

Let us take responsibility for our own actions, inactions, strengths and frailties and not project them onto ghosts, spirits, stars, portents and gods unseen.

Let us have the courage to accept that one person's faith is another person's bloody-minded pig-headed refusal to accept the obvious.

Let us have the courage to accept that the person at the front of all crowds, including this one, doesn't know all the answers.

Let us have the wisdom to accept that if our ancestors had fared differently in wars our communities would be holding different absurdities up as sacred truths, and the willingness to accept those absurdities would be seen as the badge of social trustworthiness or even the right to be allowed to draw breath.

Let us accept that the difference between a prophet and a madman is not what they say but whether the crowd accepts the story and tells their children to believe it.

Let us have the courage to accept that wanting to believe in something with every fibre of our being does not and cannot make it true.

Truth needs no help, no believers, no bowed heads and no amens.

Alot of good words of wisdom Sir. I still believe in Santa Clause Toodunno
I've recently been searching why modern evidence is turning many scientists to GOD...Very knowledgable.
Remember...If All scientists confessed that Jesus is theie savior...Most fear the chance of losing their job. Make any sence???
Thanks for your post.

one's proffession neither confirms nor denies wisdom in other areas. Being a basball player or actor doesn't automatically give you the wisdom, much less proof of anything. Even authority in their chosen felid can misinformed, so you can stick your 'profession' card back into the deck.

Very good analogy... I have a hard time myself trying to get my head around the pain and suffering issue and I have never doubted the existence of god...

But to put it is the context of my own life experience.. I often find in hindsight that even when the worst things happen something good comes out of it.. and I discover in time that there was an ultimate purpose or important lesson to be learned...

People who suffer hardship are often the most spiritual people because when tested, there faith becomes more affirmed..

I read a good book recently by Rick Warren, the title is "A purpose driven life" I thought it answered the questions I had about the reasons for all the suffering and pain in life. It is really a good book.

You might find a lady by the name of Joyce Meyers very interesting to look upgift
She's an excellent woman that writes great books, The Purpose Driven Life was one of my first followed by Joel Olsten or Olstein(not sure of exact spelling)
Also check out the website of an awsome guy to learn from named Gregorey Dickow. O O sure somebody will be all over that name??

Best of Blessings to you in your journey..Remember ALL paths we've traveled are meant to be..including the thoughest ones. There only there to make us stonger, teach us something, A temporary test and trial..to From God as He desires your spiritual eyes become opend and see the blessings that surround you.
ALL things are possible in JESUS CHRIST who strengthens us. Ph. 4:13
I'm not very good at memorizing Bible verses because as some of you have read, I'm certainly not the typical stereotyped Christian Man.
Anyway I sense you're already on the right path and May the Lord Bless You in all you do!

Here's the most common problem Men in particular have a problem dealing with.
The simple thought of a Godly woman puting the Guidlines of a man named Jesus before himself.
How can a man control his woman if he is not worshipped and idolized first?
And Oh No! What if the woman I love get's to heaven and worships our Lord and Savior Jesus and not me.
I understand it's tough to think about but remember...All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us...ALL
Who really knows what'll happen when we get there..And the day will come when we are forced in our entire soul and spirit
to make that decision..trust me..I've been a survivor of 3 near death experiences..So I've almost been in the wrong place dude.
It's not funny.
Another problem is the fear of..Oh Oh, what will my"friends think if I accept the Lord as my personal savior???
What will my familly think??? People usually don't accept positive change as well as negative for others in the worldly,"fleshly" perspective.
Trust me on that.
It's pretty simple to start getting blessed by the Heavenly Father.
First step...Lose the robot mentality if there is one that goes something like this....."What about me What about me What about me yaddayaddayadda."
I pray this note bring you lots of success in all you set out to do.

Dude? You misread me buddy. Why in the heck would you assume my stance or perspective with the given information that I gave in my last post?
Why are you lumping me in with other robots?
Why do you assume that I give a flying fuck what other people think about me?
Why do you keep refering to God as a he?
The only person that can save you is yourself. End.of.story.
I bless myself with my thoughts and actions. Your concept of God or the Heavenly Father will not save us. The Source is in us, we are part of the Source. God is not controlling anything. We are. Get real dude.
Me? Robot mentality?Read some of my posts earlier in this thread and you will see that I am well far off from a robot mentality. Worry about yourself and your belief. I am in a good place right now, and I made it that way as a non relgious person. Do not ever try and tell me how to achieve success by tapping into only one part of the truth...

D'oh! you can not educate people who don't choose to grow... I find it interesting that so many of us "non religious" people have come to the same or very similar understandings of how things work on our own...

Something for everyone else to think on... the bible says if I am not mistaken.. that god made us in its image..... have you ever stopped to fully understand the implications of that? that would indicate to me...that we have the potential to do EVERYTHING that god can... if we choose to learn how to do so.

Yes, if you ask and search...you will recieve...don't need to be a Christian in order to do so. Just have to ask and seek, and the signs and answers will come to choose a path.

thumbs up Almost everything in this vibratory plane...but we do have potential that we have yet to realize...I think the bible was severly misinterpretated in many ways. A lot this God talk was in reference to us...inside of us, or divine energy and potential that we have...not relying on some illusory father figure to come and rescue us...
