we coulda ended the thread in 3 posts

PureSail is rightsort of confused about us.
we just are NOT succinct enough around here
we should just all walk thru and wave and nod and sing jingle bells
kinda like at the grocery storeour usual jolly self.

i mean ive heard thats a good place to meet singles too

riya stop apologizing smiling at ppl who behave rudely
and dont also apologize
and i swear if you apologize to this i will come over there!!!

Thats so cute ... crying I am overwhelmed with emotion... ( now this part was serious )

Ok .. uhhhhhh i wont " say sorry " shamrock

Of course we are a bunch of cool funny people. And i have no issues with chit chats on threads so i was explaining saying why the fuss about nothing ??

And yes i think we should campaign against emoticon abuse snooty

For a few moments this was to find a way to add new voices to the discussions here. I know now that dissension will add nothing. Its not necessary for me to find faults as noted by some who took this to a personal level.
How many others on a given day piped in to only be blown away for being too critical and approached this from the wrong direction. I now have a personal email telling me that I have now been reported as offensive. Everyday life has its challenges.

It makes me wonder why so many new posters seem to be disheartened or driven off the forums. There have been threads offlate to discuss and make the point and some of them have been so warm and encouraging for new members.
Many a times it must be cos of us but other times it must be them ..

* I wonder if we are expecting too much of " forum etiquette "
from people? What do you think ?

* Is it up to us to make people feel welcome and make them feel
comfortable or is it up to them to mix and join in the threads ?

* Do you think people resort to rude posting time and again to get
noticed or make a point ( new or old anyone )?

* Keeping in mind this is a dating site , are we many a times way off
track making it boring for people actually looking for a partner ?

* Is this an issue to even think about at all ? If yes, what can be done
about it ??

Hi Ryiawave

You have brought a lot of valid points to the surface here and i feel that the forums are no longer appealing to new comers that are looking for a partner... wave leprechaun

puresail the first thing you did was get personal

thats why you were responded to directly

dissension?
yeah thats a tuff one for some around here
i can commisserate with you on that
but why dissent rather than debate? discuss?
might be more constructive?

just a little input
worth very little to you im sure

ooh well

thumbs up

I agree with you.
The thread was started so more people would come in and post.
You posted your opinion and even though it is not the opinion of the majority you are well entitled to have your say.

The thread did turn into idle chit chat among regular posters.
I thought the say something threads were more about talking nonsense to someone or no one.
Ah welldunno

It would appear from the forum rules that chitchat is supposed to be elsewhere, and I think you all agreed to that signing up for a free site...
