I have to say as a fairly new member to this site and to the forums it is quite difficult to get in to any sort of conversation on here as your face/name isn't known by the regulars.

I'm sure it's not deliberate but it is very clique on here at times..

Still, onwards and upwards and all that.

Really though, if you step into the conversation, people are more than willing to accept, get to know you, and listen to you....it's all in the way that you look at things...wine Maybe start a thread of your own, and babysit it, posting after other's post-in response. That is a good way to start feeling a part of things instead of apart of things.....hug

When I was new here, the only way people got to know me was by starting my own threads on a subject that I knew might interest some people or get them mad. If I responded in a thread I was like invisible.conversing

[quote=Zellarrone1]I think some of the new "would-be-regular-posters" are put off by all the boring chit chat amongst seemingly cliquey members. They must feel like they've turned up at a party where everyone knows each other except themselves so they feel ignored and vow never to return.

This even turns off some of the older regular posters.wave

Hi Riya, wave I don't believe people get scared off the forum's.
They just don't give enough time to settle into the conversations
and friendly banter.

You can't expect to come here and instantly be familiar with
everyone. It takes participating in with discussions on lots
of diverse forums, before other other folks get an idea of how
you will react to any comments that may be passed.
Everyone who introduces themselves, always receives a warm
welcome, either from relative newcomers or people who have been
posting quite a while.

You just have to give it time.

I have started a few threads and jumped in on a fair few also..

Like I say, I'm sure it's not deliberate but it does come across that as I'm not in the 'gang' I don't get many replies. (Thats not meant to offend anyone, just my view on it)

Doesn't really bother me to be honest, just thought I'd give a 'newbies' view on it..

cheers

Yes, I think it does turn off some of the older regular posters especially if they have a thin skin sad flower
