THE MARINES WANT THIS TO ROLL ALL OVER THE U.S.

Please don't delete this until you send
it on, Let's send it around the world.
FRIENDS ARE BORN, NOT MADE

This is a poem being sent from a Marine
to his Dad. For those who take the time
to read it, you'll see a letter from him to
his dad at the bottom. It makes you truly
thankful for not only the Marines, but
ALL of our troops.
THE MARINE
&n bsp;
We all came together,
Both young and old
To fight for our freedom,
To stand and be bold.

In the midst of all evil,
We stand our ground,
And we protect our country
From all terror around.

Peace and not war,
Is what some people say.
But I'll give my life,
So you can live the American way.

I give you the right
To talk of your peace.
To stand in your groups,
and protest in our streets.

But still I fight on,
I don't bitch, I don't whine.
I'm just one of the people
Who is doing your time.

I'm harder than nails,
Stronger than any machine.
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a U.S. MARINE!

So stand in my shoes,
And leave from your home.
Fight for the people who hate you,
With the protests they've shown.
Fight for the stranger,
Fight for the young.
So they all may have,
The greatest freedom you've won

>Fight for the sick,
Fight for the poor
Fight for the cripple,
Who lives next door.

But when your time comes,
Do what I've done.
For if you stand up for freedom,
You'll stand when the fight's done

Hey Dad,
Do me a favor and label this 'The Marine' and send it to everybody on your email list. Even leave this letter in it. I want this rolling all over the US ; I want every home reading it. Every eye seeing it. And every heart to feel it. So can you please send this for me? I would but my email time isn't that long and I don't have much time anyway.
You know what Dad? I wondered what it would be like to truly understand what JFK said in His inaugural speech. 'When the time comes to lay down my life for my country, I do not cower from this responsibility. I welcome it.' Well, now I know. And I do. Dad, I welcome the opportunity to do what I do. Even though I have left behind a beautiful wife, and I will miss the birth of our first born child, I would do it 70 times over to fight for the place that God has made for my home.< I love you all and I miss you very much. I wish I could be there when Sandi has our baby, but tell her that I love her, and Lord willing, I will be coming home soon. Give Mom a great big hug from me and give one to yourself too.
Aaron

Please let this marine (and all our military) know we care by passing his poem onto your friends even if you don't usually take time to forward mail...do it this time!
Thanks,
Let's help Aaron's dad spread the word ..... FREEDOM isn't FREE
Someone pays for you and me.

God bless you!
crying Truly heart wrenching and very well put. Thank you for sharing that.thumbs up

Would that include Danish troops serving?

War mongers are all the politicians whom created this war...and here side runners are also a kind of casualties of the madness them selves. Troops are troops...soldiers can not do any thing and they just obey the orders if they are agree or not...and when the war goes on their feeling of revenge takes over and all of a sudden some of them becoming monstres them selves!

I dont beleive any troops and that includes danish troops are war mongers by them selves! they are all casualties of this war them selves and be sure when all troops are ordered to leave they will leave with happiness and will not miss any thing a bout this great act of shame the war in Iraq is.

Just imagine.....travelling so far from home and being ordered to shoot for kill! Killing people they have no idea whom are?Making children parentless or destroying families for ever........Shame on Bush and shame on Cheney and all their look a likes for ever!

I sent this in Because I have a neice that is on her third time in Iraq, She does not complain she knows what she has to do. She also sent me this letter it was posted at her Where she is based. It was her friend. But she says she would lay her life down for any country that would ask them for there help. So if i caused a problem with this I am truly Sorry. For It is real. And god Bless everyone of us and all the men and women that fight for and country to be free.wine

You certainly did not offend me at all, I have an "honoary son" (lived with me for 2 years) there, plus hi best friend who I have know since a kid and my neighbours downstairs left for he war last year and I met all of the male and female friends of his before they left and I pra for them everyday. Only a soldier (like a few here in this thread) truly know what it is like and we have no right to ridicule these men and women.

I will apologize if I fed into the child like behavior. I have no relatives in the service at this time, but I remember 2 of which served in Viet Nam, and the mistreatment they got from people in the US. (I can't really even call them citizens)

Salute those who are serving. thumbs up

JMHO[/quote]

I am just saying that others who have been there are speaking out and I will listen. From the beginning of this war I have supported the soldiers and even cried for them and their families even though I don't have any family members serving there. But NO I don't have to back off, I can listen to other soldiers who speak out against what they have witnessed and experienced. I know we went in there aggressively and I was disgusted from the start. I am not saying this about you jimboy, I have read enough of your post to know that you are an aultristic person. It was the top government officials and top military who were in lead and put on the act. I am grateful we have a military and men who will put thier lifes on the line and I only hope for the best.

I still have my concerns for my country and for human life and I will express them. I don't like when politicians or anyone values power more than human life.
