If you Google "In the midst of all evil, We stand our ground," There are 192,000 pages with this poem on it.

This is propaganda, nothing more, nothing less. I will certainly send it to anyone unless as an example of propaganda.

I do feel sorry for the troops out there, Have a friend out there now but this War is absolutely wrong. Also what number of wars is this since the second World War that The US have fought - 72 "Interventions" I think - difficult to keep count. Warmongers!

thumbs up

I didn't think to do this. I was suspicious of this as an authentic piece. Every war has its sentimental propoganda stories....but they are just stories!

Agree wholeheartedly. Just another example of how people's beliefs are abused by powerful people.

Lets hope that the people who are disgusted are listened to and hopefully Bush will be gone before he carries out his promise at the start of the Iraq war to bring "Democracy" to Jordan, Syria and Iran after Iraq.

It will be very interesting to see what happens in Iraq as they are far from happy with the 14 different Compounds built from bomb-proof materials in Iraq including the American Embassy that covers 104 acres ib Baghdad!

You must have seen the movie "Wag The Dog" , it's all too reminiscent of "That ole Shoe"........

Some people will as i say believe anything.

Plagerism isn't funny either.Mind you the scriptwriter must be frustrated not being able to claim his or work just in the above movie.

If you haven't seen the movie you really should, you'll love it.

There is no-one "dissing" the soldiers who risk their life over there. I have a friend over there and wonder what state he will come back in. The soldiers fighting over there are just as much victims of this War as the Iraq people are.

I have waited as everyone else to see some valid justification for this War and have yet to see any.

The reasons for invading become more and more dubious to any person who looks at this situation objectively and means that we will keep an even closer eye on any further attempts to invade the Middle East or anywhere else in the World for that matter.

This War has gone on too long to do very much about it apart from The US withdrawing immediately, the damage has been done to Iraq and to the credibility of the American Government.

This damage will remain long in peoples memories.

You're right...it's amazing how some decisions by ignorant people change the history of the world. I don't hold anything against any service man or woman, want them home and safe, or at least if they have to fight somewhere, do it for a good cause...Iraq is not it. As for watching Iran that someone mentioned - Iran was not near the problem BEFORE Iraq was put in the state it's in today...this whole war has weakened the US and caused more people to turn to terrorism than would have happened had this invasion not happened. Saddam was like an ugly scab on a persons arm....not pretty, but most of his damage had already been done; the scab has been ripped off and infection has now set in and the whole arm is in danger of falling off....kind of a visual.

You need to read thru the whole thread. If a marine asks for something to be doneand its not done because people dont believe him? What do u call dissing? they have done it many times on here.I was addressing the poster.I agree we have been in the war to long, its tearing America apart. But your own country fought for yrs in a religious war,Thats never been put on here for debate so Americans could tell u how stupid it was.So please do us the same favor and stop railing at our Goverment and the American people.handshake

Sorry, the Irish fought to get rid of an invader as well - the British....though, in the end they had to compromise; wasn't all about religion.

In my humble opinion it is the right , indeed the duty of all people to question those in power.

When that stops is when democracy is gone. Oh I was forgetting USA is a republic.

Hi. With respect. Why should I do something because a marine asked. Anyway the point of several contributions is that this is a fake letter purely designed as war propoganda. Nobody is railing.....the OP took this "letter" in good faith and asked us all to publicise it....several people, myself included, responded politely saying they won't because it is pro-war propoganda and not our war anyway. I am sorry it is tearing your country apart but that is the price of voting for Bush and his henchmen.
