Yes its a nice place and I have many friends that I have made here and I enjoy hearing from them its just that I haven't been anywhere near the net so that I could talk to them or make new friends here in the forums.

Stick around. There are alot of people on here and this is a very special site, regardless of the mayhem and mockery at times. What do you expect when a bunch of different kinds of people get together. Maybe that is why America is the way it is?....But. you will always almost find someone who no matter where they come from or their background that you just can't help but connect some.

LOL...I just read what I typed and I sure do sound like I lived in the midwest almost all my life doesn't it?

I was here and someone came over and I said something and they said, "Your from the US aren't you?"..lol

Canadians have an accent to sometimes. I think that one factor...without a doubt is they say "eh" an awful lot..lol. There are other things but hey...I am speaking from my end of the world.

I mat a couple people related and they were born in Californis. One lives in Tulsa now and the other still in California. We were talking on three-way and they thought I had a Michigan accent. Well...that is not that far apart but look at the accents in this country.

Very true I was born here in Iowa and I am told that I sound as if I am from the south. I don't hear it but from what I am told between the accents in my family and from my travels I have picked up a distinct accent that is really from nowhere as my friends from the south say that I sound as if I was raised in another country at times but not from the north. Weird huh!

Not really...I am from Northern Illinois, Sycamore, Il that is. I definately have somewhat of a drawl but not as pronounced as lkike in Kentucky. If you go to Southern Illinois, they sound like they are from Kentucky.

I lived in Wisconsin Northern Wisconsin for 12 years. They sound more Northern and even have that "Fargo" touch to them. Have you ever seen the movie Fargo?..

They are not as bad as the movie..a majority sound like us with a little of that accent....I have met some that do sound like that. I was in Walgreens one day and a lady sounded like that and I asked her if she was from Norway or something and she said no, she was from there...lol (This is right after I saw Fargo too..lol )

Anyway..back to the same story about the related guys from California. The one that lives in Tulsa has quite the drawal compared to his cousin.

Therse accents are very interesting...But...All over the world is the same thing. That why we have different languages I think.

Well, What I figured is that some of my direct ancestors came from the south. I do know for fact that in the beginning they were very prominent in the North East. My mom and brother found that Ben Franklin's father rented a lot from my family when he was born. When the story begins with Ben it is after that ancestor died and they moved. They knew most of the crowd that wrote the Declaration Of Independence. They held some important positions in their area and held much land. When they moved West...They helped the Underground Railroad. Possibly, but I am not sure by offbranching of the very family if more.

Does that make me more special than anyone else? No...It make my family very deep in America and I do have Native roots too. I love this country and believe in it. I would hate to see it die the way it is when it has so much spirit.
