Yes that's my point. I was wondering why all the ladies here are so vehemently against this and yet some women must get involved or it couldn't happen.

It's a good job we men understand you all so easily...........

Sorry

It's obviously it's not us women here that are in those relationship. But those women who were didn't seem to have much choice now did they? Was some of it abuse, or was it really love at first sight? Were some of the men avoiding jail sentence, thus they marry their cousin after the relationship started? If they go by the double standard that a woman must be a virgin before she marries, then she can't be if she is busy with her cousin before that, or can she still be considered worthy only if she marries him?

think that could depend on how closely you are bought up together , i have cousins that i hardly ever saw and we are not a close family. So if there was no blood connection i can see that people can fall in love.

A distant cousin showed interest in me once (hadn't seen him ever before this time basically) he was a second or third cousin and after a lot of beer went to kiss me.. it still completely grossed me out.. lovely guy... could have had a good relationship.. if that horrible memory wasn't etched in my mind... now while I understand that there are different degrees of sickness.... if you KNOW that someone is a direct blood relative... I just think it is waaaay to creepy .. JMV wine

I think.. JMV that people who submit to this kind of thing have a very skewed idea of what familial love is about.. possibly becuase of abuse.. I don't know... but u just don't go with family. even biology rejects that as a notion JMV

Not sure where the virginity requirement came from. Or the sudden necessity of marriage.

Anyway, we are still judging the whole thing from our standpoint and we in the western world don't make up a third of the world's population. There are so many other views all dependent on our upbringing.

And while I personally haven't experienced nearly enough of it, I'm quite sure women have their own sex drive which they satisfy in whatever way suits them. Why wouldn't a woman "have much choice"?

In Jerry Lewis's case.......that didn't seem appropriate, young 13 year old girl... Was he completely divorced yet from previous relationship?

Well for the sake of the child, no one says anything beside whispers perhaps, but unless it was a taboo subject where you live, no one bothers about it.

My previous response was to the lady lusciousmile, but I know you are aware of that.
But something tells me you are eaten up about a situation. Would you care to say how it has affected you?

Are you trying to come to terms with a situation that has really eaten away at you and your family?

Well then the response you are getting may be similar to those that you may have felt in the intial stage of that individual announcement of the relationship.

If there was some shock, disbelief in the beginning of that person's realtionship, sometimes this may have led them(the couple) not to have children, inorder not to further complicate matters. Secondly, if you were close(meaning on good terms with one or both of them) then it put a further strain on your relationship with them.

I have to say to you that it took a lot of guts for you to put that initial thread out there. But it sure got lots of response!
