"Mugabe is boycotting the summit, which Tsvangirai is attending. The summit is expected to call for the urgent release of the election results.
'Sometimes we have other business that holds us back,' Mugabe told reporters, assuring his no-show in Zambia was not a snub to his neighbours, who were still his 'very good friends,' his 'brothers'."Quote
"Other business.." of course he does. Knowing Mugabe, his supporters are probably sharpening their pangas, cleaning off and loading up their old AK's. If the shooting starts again in ol' Rhodesia, I wonder who would try to intervene...Mugabe can't rely on his old Soviet friends, nor Zambia, given the state of their military...South Africa?? Perhaps, perhaps not, depends on their General Staff which is still not dominated by any ANC appointees; perhaps England? They never dared when we were fighting Mugabe , not til Smith crumbled under pressure, then the Brits came in all high and mighty to formally surrender to Mugabe, instead of Nkomo. Things may have taken a much better course...
