It doesn't matter who's president, I generally see good things for the future. It makes no difference who the president might be. Even when it was Jimmy Carter (one of the most pitiful Presidents we've known), we knew times would get better. If nothing else, everyone knew he wouldn't be re-elected.

I have faith in the American way and American ingenuity...as long as government stays out of the way!

Funny you should mention saints. With all the discusseion we have had on the Iraq war being moral or immoral....I tried to think of the last war...I would consider moral...............was a long time ago.......
but Joan of Arc campaign in the Netherland against the British is the one I came to mind that might have been .....and the rest in between seemed to have a lot immorality to them....by both sides.

War by its very nature is a immoral act. That why American's believe so much in having short wars. But radical Islam has us into a long one this time.

None of us are, God....only men trying to do the best we can under some really tough conditions and situations.

Ever wonder how President Bush starts his day? For the last 6 years here is how it goes. It might vary if he is traveling....or such.....but this is about it for the Oval office days.

He first gets a military file on the intelligence and threat assessment of the 24 hours prior, maybe with a breifing. In the file there is a list of names...of the military Casualities and Wounded from the day prior.

For each casuality there is a service personal file/record..with photo, with schools with awards, with family info., etc

He will take each service man personal file/record. Read it. And then dictate a letter of condence to the family. In the briefing info, if they have post action reports on how the service man died, he can refer to them in the letter. He will tell them if the man was up for a citaition on the action that he died in. So often he is reading a report from the fighting on exactly how this person died.

Now dictated, they will be on his desk for signature the next day. He now signs the letters from the previous day. They get envelope and mailed.

He has done that over 4000 times now.
