Dude, I come from the State that "Roger" Micheal Moore made his documentary on. Michigan.

I worked in many of the same kinds of environoment/factories his criticized in the film. So have seen this a lot closer than most.
That kind of auto manufacturing is hard, dirty, nasty work. Companies
attempt to make the many government safety and OSHA laws for worker safety. But it is a never ending process on new reg. and new
situations, that they will never cover 100%.

"Roger" Micheal Moore comes in....finds select violations.....makes his
documentary......he does not talk about the 100s time they met the regs and rules. Only the violations. American auto manufacturer realize that Michigan is not such a good place to make auto any more.
That they will be expose' in unfair documentaries like Moores. That with foreign competition.....they leave. 1000s of jobs gone. Michigan has been a in economic recovery ever since Moore did his first documentary.

So in that since, you are right. Moore did change American thinking and many honest hard working American suffered in that change.

His first documentary was so biased and distorted. I have never bothered to see any of the others. So I guess he did not change my thinking very much.

Micheal Moore knew what his reports were going to do to the auto industry, in my opinion. He had lived in Michigan all his life. He knew the industry there. If I remember right his dad was a long time auto
industry factory worker in Flint, MI. Had gotten laid off when a plant closed. His family went through some bad times because of the lay off.

But you don't clobber an entire industry because your family gets into a problem like this. Were there things wrong with the auto industry. Yes. Were there then also good things about the auto industry, again yes. A fair and balanced documentary covers both.....after seeing 90 minute of only negatives.....why do I want to see more of his work? I know I am getting biased info.

the 'right', the 'standing' or the 'understanding' of what it
is to be an American Patriot.

You can call Micheal Moore a good man, a man that does
investigative reporting on critical issues, a man of world knowledge and ability and what ever far left adjectives you want. I don't
really care.

But you don't have the right, the standing, or the understanding
to call him a American Patriot. You may feel you know what these
are. But not ever stood to the flag of the United States, considered her
Constitution, thought on the words of Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson,
walked across Civil War battle fields, and mostly importantly taken an oath of alligiance......I don't think have the right to call this American a
patriot and this other American not one.

The concept of American Patriot comes from our Revolutionary days.
Its a title they use almost exclusively for each other....and
for the foriegn men that fought beside them. So unless you have those kinds of roots to that kind of history, even though you have been to the country and would maybe someday live here......you don't get the right yet of determining a who an American Patriot is.

To give Micheal Moore such a title without any standing on your part......would have many past American Patriots......taking you to
a field of honor for a duel.....one where only one walks away from.
They would challenge you and let you pick the weapon. It has happened many times and for much less in defense of the term
American Patriot. You say this is archic. Yes, so is the concept of
American Patriot. It has been around since 1776. That is very honestly how they defended the term then, with a duel to even till the American Civil war. More recectly, in the days of WWI and WWII....a solid fist fight. One where noses get broken. After that we have gotten pretty lax in defending the concept. Have let many slip by on it.

Micheal Moore has done nothing to the likes of the men mentioned here for the country. He does not yet qualify in my opinion for the title. Maybe he will. American Patriots are sometime made in a moment. Others in a life time.

Well well, from personal experience, I bought a home during the Carter years at 13.5% and thought that was a good rate at the time. Current rates are about 6% here.

Unemployment now is at 5.1% and that's with the influx of 20 million illegals. Check back on the golden Carter years, if you will. Dittos on inflation.

I'd say things are relatively good, all things considered.
