The times I was audited , the IRS was up front and courteous. I don't think they will get you too bad , as long as you tell them the truth and return the check.

However , as one poster said , they might look at past returns and try to uncover any shady dealings (if any).

Not trying to be a know-it-all , just my opinion.

There's really nothing to "get". For the years I didn't file for, I probably would've gotten a refund.

Now that I've calmed a bit, top priority has become to move asap and fry the preparer.

her you go...you need to call the Cincinnati Branch...we are so back up and they have recheck the forms....you need to report that you have no false intention to falsied the federal government...and I know you dont want to get your friend in trouble but you need to make sure they know you didnt have any involvement and then you need to return the check ...and then you going had to reflied again
