If the court took your kids from you wouldn't you do everything possible to get them back? Britney is trying real hard to get hers back? Do you think it is fair to take other children away from their mothers, because the mothers are different from you, different language, culture , religion, when there is really no proof of abuse?

Yes I would...I don't think they take kids away because the mother's are different...they take kids away to protect them because they feel they are being neglected or in some kind of danger!!!!!!!

Britney needs to deal with herself and her problems beforre she should even think about getting her kids back...It's only fair to the kids to have a healthy mother....She needs to rectify all the problems that led to her kids being taken away in the first place!!!!!!!!!

There but for the grace of God go I......mental illness can hit anyone of us at any time and this is what I believe has happened to Britney...could be post natal depression...who knows....but taking a mothers children from her in such a fragile state is an extremely cruel thing to do ....jmo

I agree with the mental illness thing...but Social Services puts the kids first when it comes to danger and neglect and she obviously needs help before she can be the mother to her kids that she needs to be....They will never leave kids in a dangerous or neglectful situation because they feel sorry for the mother...If they were to leave the kids and something happened to them...then what?????

It's always too late after the fact when a child is severly injured or killed!!!!!!!!!!

That whole Britney saga is heartbreaking....but in a sense it may be the one thing that brings her back on track... I also feel for the children.. they don't have the means of rationalising 'grown up stuff' so to them it will just feel like rejection... when you think of how much time some of us spend wishing we had more.. more money, more success etc... just goes to show really doesn't it.. I would hate to be a celebrity.. or a celebrity kid... sigh

The babies still need contact with their mother...which may mean a third party is present through every visitation...sometimes I think these cruel laws are just there to set examples and make the self righteous feel better about the fact that theyre 'doing it right'.

Do you seriously think Britney was gonny kill her babies....come on dunno

Do you seriously think Britney was gonny kill her babies....come on If somebody is mentally ill, the children may well be at risk of physical injury or worse, maybe not intentionally. This case is so high profile Social Services would need to be seen to act to cover themselves.

I think because of this view Morgan a lot of sick Mums are afraid to seek help in case their children are removed from the family home...I have first hand experience of post natal depression and at no time were the children ever under threat blues

Well she had 3rd party visits until she locked herself and one of her kids in the bedroom and wouldn't come out for hours when it was time to take the kids home....Signs of a healthy mother?????

I'm sorry I am all for the children in this case and in all cases....Do you honeslty think they take kids aways because the like it?????

Who knows who is capable of hurting or killing their kids...BUT I bet those who have all the facts know better than those of us who don't.....If people could predict when someone would kill their kids...there wouldn't be any child deaths at the hands of parents ever because then there could be inervention!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about the rest of the world.
In Michigan, a woman has to be one sorry excuse for a human being to have her kids taken away. The courts will give them every chance in the world to clean up before they take the kids.

Most of the time, the family members will step in and take custody. Our foster system is failing miserably. We have couples who want to be foster parents and have been turned down and there are also foster parents who shouldn't be.

the well being of the childen must always be the priority.

Seeing Britney on the news in rehabilitation for drugs, alcohol, being out partying and behaving the way she did, I think social services did the right thing.

After seeing her drive her child in a car without a seat belt on several occassions, would she hurt her kids, probably only luck prevented her from doing so.

Taking her kids away from her, whilst not fair, has probably been the only action that has resulted in her starting to get her life back on track.

Hopefully for her, she will prove that she is a good mother, and can assume custody and have a normal life with her kids, but until then, the kids must come first.

women consistantly take children from their fathers. So Britney lost this time. Three cheers to her husband. Seldom do men have rights to their children in America. Women are almost always awarded custody and men must pay for children they are only allowed limited access to.

Hurts, doesn't it, to lose your children. She gets NO sympathy from this father!peace yay

I always say the children should come first.....having said that a sick mother should never be scorned or shunned but should always receive the care she needs and at all times be in contact with her children unless its not straightforward baby blues or pnd...psychosis is a totally different thing of course.

Very harsh comments indeed and thankfully not always the case in Scotland...I can see you havent taken the needs of the children into consideration when commenting...very sad I think

I agree with you but it so difficult, so many

times children have been at risk and left in the home environment, to end up dead. In the ideal world

support needs to put into the home, but due to budgets this option is not often viable, i'm not saying

that is right, but it is a fact it boils down to money.

Crystal, do your concerns and views on mothers losing their children also extend to fathers in the same situation?
