I agree..the welfare of the children is paramount....and the best parent should always Andrea Yates both women who killed their children....Should they get off if they have a genuine mental illness...I would like to say no...BUT I also know they cant be held responsible for their actions...in case of Andea Yates she was found to have post-partem psychosis...I have always felt that the best place for her was a mental institution where she can get the help she needs.... Nobody says father's can't be good parents...I'm glad to hear your son grew up to be such a fine gentleman...

OOOOOPPPPPPPPSSSSSSSS...Part of my post went someplace....

It should read:

the best arent should always have custody.....I was thinking about both Susan Smith and Andrea Yates...rolling eyes

If the court took your kids from you wouldn't you do everything possible to get them back? Britney is trying real hard to get hers back? Do you think it is fair to take other children away from their mothers, because the mothers are different from you, different language, culture , religion, when there is really no proof of abuse?

I don't believe Britney's children being taken away had anything to do with language, culture, religeon, etc..

Britney's mental well being is in question. I'm not sure if she's been diagonsed, treated etc... But, based on her behavior during the time the initial court cases were going on, she did not seem capable of taking care of herself. That being the case, she was in no position to care for her children. I think the judge made a good decision and as much as Britney's behavior disgusts me, I do hope she seeks help and is one day capable of being reunited with them and carrying on as normal a relationship as is possible even if she never receives custody.

this kind of attack really doesn'ts seemed to be called for--why get so personal and be so abrasive....? she hasn't attacked you in that way...we know from what you've written what your personal experiences were, but it's not fair to project that on to everyone--she's not advocating that mothers who are cruel and abusive have custody of their children..

I dont know what his personal experiences are to be honest nor am I interested....I just think its a sad day when people are happy to jump on the back of one disturbed and sick individual....blues

If you wish me to respond to your opinion please refrain from calling me an idiot....if you strip away all her lifestyle, money, glamour etc, she is still a sick human being who needs help.

take away all that...she is still a lousy mother who does not think of her childrens safety.

And I am not here to get your approval of what I say any more than I give a rats patooty about yours or Portieus

Whether you respond means absolutely nothing to me.

You started this by accusing me of nor caring about her children...I think I care more than she does.

I don't think anyone is against Britney Spears getting mentally well, and after demonstrating she is fit to be a mother, assuming access to her kids and being part of their life.

What I don't understand is how you can put her well being before the well being of the kids, when she has clearly put their well being at risk with her mental state. confused:

The babies still need contact with their mother...which may mean a third party is present through every visitation...sometimes I think these cruel laws are just there to set examples and make the self righteous feel better about the fact that theyre 'doing it right'.

Do you seriously think Britney was gonny kill her babies....come on

You come on !
How many Andrea Yates or Susan Smiths do we need?
We have way too many screwed up mothers being left with their kids and the kids end up dead.

The kids come first. Period!

And if you think otherwise, You have not been around drug addict parents.

I have seen many that the drugs are more important than anything in life.
Given chance after chance by the courts, to give up drugs so they can keep their kids.. but most refuse to give up the drugs and the kids end up taken away.

How can anyone think Britney is a fit Mother?
and she already had supervised visitation- remember?
And think back... what happened?
They had to call the cops because of her crazy- drug induced behavior! cheers
