I don't know if anyone familiar with this track by Kernkraft 400 but video strangely reflects current emotional reluctance. Cold, unemotional state where consumerism rules minds and bodies. We're afraid to feel or we don't feel anything any more. I see the whole population flat lining where there is no anger and no love. There is no joy and no pain just cold reluctance. We're thought to control or suppress our emotions. Any emotional variation is considered abnormal and treated with drugs! We're forgetting what it means to be human and if this trend continues I see a dark future for man kind.

I don't know what universe you're living in, but there's plenty of emotion in mine. Joy and pain, one can't exist without the other. I feel sorry for people who are afraid to feel. Especially since I used to be one of them.

That is your own universe. I'm talking about people around you. How often do you see people cry of laugh on a street?

I call them sleepwalkers...
The worst place I encounter them is the elevator or train...no-one will give you eye contact but I love to smile deliriously at them if they do and most of the time it is infectious...
People rushing to nothing...
The other day I was eating out with my GF at a restaurant full of sleepwalkers...She is as ratty as and got fed up with feeling like we were dining at a morgue...She decided to tapdance past the patrons..Not a good idea across the road from the hospital I work at..

Joy cannot be felt without sorrow..pleasure without pain...love without emptiness..To have had ones heart touched is to carry the scar of love....Perfect pleasure..perfect pain.

Question is why people behave that way? Fear of self expression?

I can't do anything about what universe other people live in. I've given up trying to fix the world, only my own. And just because they don't show it doesn't mean they don't feel it. I've learned not to judge people by their outsides, you can't know what's inside.

Yes...When someone is hurt it seems far easier to become detached and just 'shut down.' It is as if society is taking one big prozc pill and becoming comfortable numb.
I rather feel my emotions even if unpleasant. To me it is like physical symptoms..they are there to allow us to know something is wrong. Without pain and swelling how could we fix our broken bodies. Emotions are the same..they allow us to communicate within ourselves and fix the problem.
I am more afraid of not living than I am of dying...

We should all run to our windows right now and scream as loud as we can...

O.k. sorry shite...bad idea

Yep, absolutely! If other people seem cold, uncaring, or heartless, try giving them warmth, jokes, and kindness. You'd be amazed at how they respond!

When my daughter is with me I'm less likely to notice others simply because we laugh a lot and tend to have a good time when we're out and about. Unless, of course, she's in one of her teenage moods, which thankfully isn't too often when we're out. So when I'm out I just ignore the miserable people. Is that bad? uh oh!

Yes, yes and yes. My thoughts exactly. Pain is a warning light that there is something wrong. I think I'll go outside and scream WOOOHOOO! grin
