I understand Norwegian and Swedish as well but of course Norwegian is easir for me to understand generally.

Too much drinking is never all right and makes people acting horribly stupied and that happens in Denmark as well unfortunatily.

I am sure you can better understand the kind of danish dialect which is spoken in Copenhagen. But still I am certain if you move to Denmark, after a short time you will understand the language easier because you have lived in Sweden. It take some times before you get used to the "sound" and the way we pronounce the words....but when you get a feeling of it you will find it more nice than you think.

When there is forbidden matters in any country then people drink more even and when they drink they REally DRINK! and thats the main part of the problem in Sweden I beleive.

When I was in college I had an instructor from Denmark. He was married and had a crush on me. We went to lunch in the cafeteria many days. He really liked me a lot. But he was a lot older and married. But he told me when he was in Denmark he owned a nightclub and there were some wild times. He also did all of my computer projects for me and gave me A's. I resented him when I went to work and didn't know what I should have learned from him.
His name was Frits. He just didnt' seem to care what anyone thought about him. I guess you can take the boy out of Denmark but you can't take Denmark out of the boy. cheers

Nah, he was married, just trying to get in my pants....like those good ole days in Denmark I guess. Poor man's wife was in love with thier friend who was a police officer and came to visit them with his wife quite often. So he told me. But he started appreciating his wife more when she started becoming more successful than him. I don't even know why I am writing about this, you and Stress just reminded me of it when you were talking about the women in Switzerland and Denmark. I have always been on the Liberal side but not the stupid side. Fortunately, I can say that I have never been tricked into being with a married man. This man from Denmark was nice but a little sneaky too. I wasn't wise to let him do my projects just so he could give me A's. I really could have done them on my on. Maybe I wouldn't have got an A but I would have learned a lot more. But I wasn't interested in more than a friendship with him either. I don't know why married men want to cheat...but I guess that is for another thread. He was still a very nice person...besides that. I actually told him one time that if told his wife that she was as wonderful as he told me I was, maybe she wouldn't be in love with another man. Of course, he treated her very good he said. And I'm sure he did.

Anyway, all I have to contribute in favor of Obama right now is.....

Looks like the Iraqi missed on al-Masri. US military doubted it most of the time that they had him. Bascially, the Iraqi got a guy with a similar name is what we are saying.

Sad, I am sure the Iraqi would like to have him off the streets.

Can what? Keep the Fl and MI deligate from being sat. Yes you can do that.

Can what? Bring guys like Ayers and Wright into the political discussion of the country. Yes you can.

Can what? Announce on May 20 that Obama in the winner and keep the influence the rest of the primaries. Yes you can.

Can What? Have a have to face to face debate with Hillary....well that one might better pass on....or at least avoid as long as possible.

Can What? Have a interview with ORielly? That one you better pass on as well until nomination is all wrapped up.

Can What? Get a bunch of redneckie and just mid road Dem unhappy
with you. That one you can do.

Can What? Lead country? Lead the Democratic party first, please. Then show us that can lead the country.

Avoidance is not leadership, Opal. Is just saying this is something I don't want to face or to deal with.

I'm sure he can do better than dumbing down America with people like Karl Rove and all his strategic manipulation and lies
and all the scum bag attorneys Bush has hired to keep his sorry ass from being exposed. And I'm sure he won't have to use executive priveledges all the time to keep things hid. And speaking of avoidance, hmmm what can I say....you have your own sense of reality and you are fighting to keep it secure. I know you would hate Obama to be our President as much as any half sane person dislikes Bush now and will have a very hard time voting for a third term for him.
Too bad you are so blind that you can't see what a failure Bush has been. He is not for America. Thank God everyone's interest is not the same as your's. Because we are ready for a leader and people have woke up and their ready for change. We need a man with courage....Obama has more courage in his little finger than Bush has in his whole body. He will be a great leader and fine President tom. Don't worry too much, it is not good for you. wink

In a passing note, those who may help vote Obama into office, may be the ironies of ironies in that the Pentagon brass seem to be worrying over how the military in general may vote according to the fall-out from the latest Rand Corporation report concerning the American troops.
As many as 300,000 Iraq and Afghan war vets(about 20 percent) are suffering from symptoms of depression or post-traumatic stress disorders. In addition, about 320,000 may have experienced some form of traumatic brain injury, which can contribute to mental difficulties.
Last August the US military had set up a new suicide hot-line specifically for combat vets; about 37,000 calls have been received so far.
The worries are based on the fact that the families, relatives and friends of the injured, not to mention, the KIA's will translate into votes for Obama and send a loud and clear message that those 'boots on the ground' may want out asap . Many of the military officers that have been 'cashiered' out of the military since the war started have been out promoting Obama to end this blood-sucking war that shows no sign of stopping. It also seems that the Pentagon Brass are reluctant to counter the growing number of pro-Obama vets in and out of service as that would make them appear to be 'against their own vets'...interesting concepts there with potential huge consequences for all the pro-war advocates...will they...do they attack their own troops and demean their injuries and their rights to vote for Obama...I would venture to say, that yes, they will, as war has no limits and those who are pro-war will attack them and demean them as both 'mental' and as 'wimps'...the war must go on. And on, and on...."it's good for the economy" etc. etc.

If he has this this courage......then? Why do the right thing on the FL and and MI deligates? Why not meet Hillary face to face? He is ducking for political gain, Opal. If he gets to office, there is no ducking. He will be tested in a fire of issues and events that he has a hard time today understanding or being concerned with.

Why can I say that? He still has yet to file the logistic report with DoD that asked for after his comments on the 50 cal in Afghanistan. He did not follow up. He ducked the issue, because it was not one.

The last time Obama jockied a F-16 across the sky was when? Oh yes.
never. GWB did a carrier landings, Opal. Flew F-16 for a number of years.Ever image what a very small aircraft that impacts the aft of a massive aircraft carrier looks like if you miss it? Not a pretty sight. And McCain has so many of them to his record his flight book is totaled out.

Take it something even more mundane. When was the last time Obama met with a soldier in the field? Been to a military base and seen some military training? Hey he can go shoot some hoop.....how about a day with the troops? Go out and watch a demostration of combined arms on a simulated target. See what he could be Commander in Chief over.

Maybe the sun is a little hot for him. Not that it matters that they live and train in that environment, day in and day out.

Yea, I guess your post shows me a lot of courage on his part. Maybe sprained ankle on the B-Ball court. Or a paper cut when he reads the
next poll. Or a nasty sore throat from giving so many speaches. He is laying out there for us...I feel a full commitment and full of courage on his part for us.

Stop and think about this Opal for a moment. There are 14.5 m honorably discharged and active duty members in the United States
Armed Forces. Most all of those 14.5m have more on thier resume' to
be Commander in Chief than does Barak Obama. That is a very honest and accurate statement.

Barak's military experience level here is that thin.

Nor does he try to improve his knowledge in the area. He could have as his position as the foreign service committee would have let him do that. If elected he is going to be at the mercy of the military Commanders that he puts in place. Or he will simply turn it all over to them......not be involved with it. Either is a lose/lose situation for the military.

Also this, I don't think that if Barak does get elected......that there will be a flood of new recruits into the Armed Forces from the far left of the country. I just don't see latte sipping academia types and his other voter blocks....saying....Hey Barak got elected, the country needs my services.....time to drop my $100K per year job at the college and join up and go thru military boot camp for Barak. Just don't see that happening, do you?

Believe it or not. People enlist and re up for the Commander and Chief. With Barak, they are simply going say....where is that job in the civie world that he promised me. Military recruiting with Barak in office, will reduce. Parents will not let thier kids enlist when he is planning major operations in Afghanistan.

Opal, I read the article. :-)

So guess all the Congressmen that vote for Iraq.....are going to get the same treatment......to be investigated by Obama and his GA?

As soon as they passed that approval of the Iraq war, GWB and his staff and the Military command got a get out of jail card. Have thier been crimes occurring in the war....no doubt about it......in Iraq by
forces in the field. Not by the command. They have no direct linkage to military command via military orders.

I was on our DoD Task Force for Kosovo. I know what kind of links to command are needed for war crimes charges. They are not there in this on Iraq or Afghanistan. If he gets in...he can order his AG to look.
Enjoy the paperwork.

Have your best shot. Your dime if you get into office.
