but the post is about exogamy which does not exclusively mean colour...all the facets of religion, family etc..come into play...these are the proposed problems I expressed...

I'm not talking about you Zarah. It's about me and i think i am on topic, even with specifics.

We can't all talk about you in the thread, because we don't know you. Try to be flexible with response expectations.

Recently befriended a great guy that is a potential 'more than friends.'
He works as a photgrapher and we have been hanging out together often over the last weeks...
Anyway the point of this I notice when we go out some people blatantly stare...( he is dark-skinned..well caramel to be exact as he is half Jamaican..and fine!)
I find their distasteful looks to be absurd in this day and age..I have dated a few men of other cultures and never really consider it a problem.
It got me to thinking about interracial relationships and the problems that arise with exogamy...what are your thoughts and do you consider it acceptable to both yourself and your extended family??

Well for me i wouldnt care what others think...Becos they are not having a relations with him..They either like who i am with or they dont...wave

Ok, dont have time to read the whole post!! I dont see a problem with it at all! In fact my dad and I were talking about this the other day... we have an old man living across the street who is the most hateful person I have ever met against african american people... I even got into a BIG heated argument with the man because he had the nerve to say that he didnt thing that anyone who wasnt white was an actual human being!!! Yeah I know!! It pissed me off big time as I have all kinds of ppl in my family and he was basically telling me that my neice and nephew werent human!! So yeah some words were said on that one, but wont go into details...

As for me, I have no problem with it at all. People are people, their skin color doesnt determine what kind of person they are. People of all shades can be beautiful and wonderful and amazing! So dont let anyones looks determine how you feel about this guy. When they look at you, walk that much closer, hold hands, give him a kiss. Its none of their business who you are with, and they shouldnt be looking at you any differently than they would a "matching"- (for lack of better words...) couple. We all have the same insides, and the outside to me doesnt matter! So go and have fun and if he is wonderful than GREAT! Good for you and just ignore the ppl in the world who are stuck in the past!

***It will be unfair if it is eventually concluded that Barrack Obama didn't win this elections due to racial prejudice, ..

Barrack will WIN because of racial bias. He has the support of so many because he claims to be black and he isn't! He is bi-racial! Liberals think they are being cool by showing how they don't let color get in the way. BUT, if you vote for a man BECAUSE of his color, you are just as guilty as if you voted AGAINST him due to his color

So, he is deceiving people into believing he is black, yet he isn't? Poor blind people. Hope they see the light, someday.

Wow, he is really a manipulator.

something worries me a lot sis...

i'm afraid Obama might abolish the institution that skin color is in America. I mean, every skin color has its elements, a real institution. What if he says: from now on, no more color designations?conversing

The pointis....he is as white as he is black!! But he doesn't claim to want to be the first bi-racial president. He is relying on his "black roots" to get him in the white house!! (or bi-racial house)

He claims to want "change...we can believe in" yet subscribes to the antiquated belief that if you are bi-racial...you are considered black.

If he would stand and say he wanted to be the first bi-racial president of the U.S. I would even work for his campaign. But because he doesn't associate himself with the caucasian part of his family, just the black part, I have to ask will he do the same as president!!

Will he be a bi-racial president? Or will he be a black president? Why is he afraid of the word bi-racial?? I can only believe it's because you don't win votes!!
