I am a only child, always wish I had brothers and sister. My dad was in the army so we moved alot and it was hard to fit in with the new kids every time and as I did get comfortable we would move again. Always thought if I had brothers and sister it would have been easier going to new places.

I'm the middle "problem" child, as we so often seem to be characterized. I have an older brother & a younger sister. I guess you'd say I'm the responsible one. My brother tries to be the boss & my sister just kinda goes with the stride. I'm the "mom" of our brood. And I might add, I'm the STUBBORN one! Always have been. But it's gotten me where I am today!

She would have kicked my ass for going back in the Army when I did... but would have understood the reasons for it.

Then she would have killed me for getting hurt and scaring herrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

This is an interesting question because of my dysfunctional family...LOL

I have one brother and one sister from both parents. The brother is now dead.

Then there is the extended brothers and sisters. Wife #1 1 son wife #2..1 son wife #4...2 sons and a daughter,

Then there is my mother...husband #2 1son....Husband # 3 2 daughters

Then there is the fact that I was raised in foster care...so there are about a million other foster brothers.

Of all these, I am only in contact with my younger Sister, Diane. BTW...I am, at 57, the oldest living member of my family

We were a brood of six, 4 girls older then me, and one brother a few years younger.

Had a brilliant childhood, at an early age, 16ish, decided I was going to head my own way. Three of them are married and between th elot there are now 12 nephews and nieces. Which is as far as I can handle.

Flew the coop by 21, went to live on my own, and never went to live back with the family since then. Love then dearly, but want my own space around me.

Better still I came to live across from the mainland, so I only meet up periodically when they come spend a few days in the family house here next door to mine.

Which suits me just fine.

I talk to both of them more than they talk to each other, Im the favorite uncle to ALL the kids too...Im also a BIG Brother to both, a Father figure to some of my nieces and nephews.

2 brothers and a sister.

Suppose to be 3 brothers and a sister, but one died in a car accident a year and a half before I was born.

That would make me the fourth born.

Three brothers, one sister.... we all have our own distinct personalities, so difficult to establish any meaningful nature v nurture argument.. e.g. My brother and I are twins and we are totally different.. he is a lot quieter than me...My Sis is a bit mad (free spririt)..My older bro, confident and outgoing, my younger brother confident but quiet mannered... so dunno.. also my neice is an only child and very confident and outgoing.. dunno laugh
