I mean, you go into the men's department and everything looks almost exactly the same.....

All joking aside, (if this is serious question laugh ) i think that in our days and age, when men walk into a clothing shop, they not everything looks the same to them. We like to look around to find that one piece that is uniquely *US*...

Most of us have our own unique styles and we DO tend to choose our clothes carefully. The fact that i can shop the same amount of things 10 times faster than a woman, doesnt mean that i do not choose carefully!!! cool

Also, i (and most men i know) have our own shops that we like to shop from. Once we establish that "our look" is achieved perfectly from shopping from these 5 particular shops, then we just do not "see" the need to go searching anywhere else! We just visit our favorite shops 2ice a year and do our thing!

But we DO select among what is there, we do not "just pick stuff" like that laugh

Lastly, men can pull off many looks, depending on the occasion (and despite popular culture that wants them looking always the same): With the right compinations we can pull off athletic, rugged, elegant, mischeivous, ... and many more wink

Actually it was a partly joking partly serious thread. I really don't know how men choose there clothing and have never been able to help a man shop (can barely do it for myself) or have any idea what to buy them if I want to get a gift. So this has been quite enlightening...thanks for your thoughtful response.thumbs up

I prefer jeans and a T-shirt most of the time. Different footwear to suit the occasion but comfort is of the utmost importance.

A suit or something more dressy for court, weddings and funerals.laugh

You have to of course take into account that i am 27 years old, i also saw another similar response from uk_man, he is 31.
i dont know if guys in their 40s or 50s see these kind of things differently!

See, lets take pants for example, and say we are going shopping for them:
There are 100 things to consider:
Short / long? Lets say long
so, jeans / linen / fancy / cotton etc? Lets go with jeans
tight fit or buggy? plain or with schematics ? washed off or strong color? what color? straight line or ... ?

maybe most men cannot see what i am saying here with words, but when they go shopping, they do see it while browsing for what to pick.

Being a 100% taurusian man, i can tell you right now that all of the above decisions come to mind only AFTER we have entered the shop, and are usually resolved within 3.4 seconds. wine

I have two sets of clothes....everyday, and dress!

Everyday consists of mainly shorts and pullovers

Dress consists of nice pants, and bitton down shirts....always worn on the outside to cover my ugly fat!

I don't own a tie or sportcoat or suit!!

A lot of my dress clothes are western wear. With 10 sets of cowboy boots.

There! I have no problem figuring out what to wear!!
