Am I suppose to respond what the best thing anyone has ever done for me?

I ponder this thought as I have been blessed so many times...

I came to this conclusion. I worked at Dee's Resturant for about 2 years in 1996... I quit working there and went and worked at Harmons... Anyhow and about 3 months later I was in a deadly car accident... They didn't know i was going to live... And my best friend Wendy at the time gave the news to my x-coworkers and some of my regular customers... It was less than a month away for Christmas and Wendy knew this was going to cause my children not to have a Christmas. The most amazing thing happened. I wish I had been a fly on the all to see it... But I guess someone started a jar of money to help me out... I recieved when I got out of the hospital. She wasn't sure if I was going to make it so she gave it to the Kids Dad...

My sons were able to have a Christmas and the children's Dad at the time was able to buy me a special Jewelry box that my oldest son now keeps as a Keepsake. The sad part is I use to love this man so much I had already bought and paid for his snowboard way before Christmas came so he was the only one that had Christmas. And I was so out of it I couldn't of said anything to him about taking it back. I have much of a memory for a few weeks... I can't remember how he even got it. I think one of my brothers lived with me. And took it out and put a bow on it for me.

Anyhow I can't say it was just someone I have to say many people did a great thing for a woman that had to re-learn to walk, read , write and drive...etc again...

Thank you Customers and Coworkers of Dee's in Taylorsville, Utah... I am so grateful dancing banana

Last November, a new friend had enough Faith in me, encouraged me, believed in me, and loaned me the money to buy my Peterbilt. I have only known him for a few years.

I have helped thousands of people throughout my life. I have taken hundreds into my home who were homeless. I have given to others in abundance.

It has never come back to me until now.

It made me cry, to know that someone believed in ME, like I have believed in so many others.

I can't say it's the best thing that someone ever did for me - but it is the most recent.......One day last week I was sitting in the drive thru line at Starbucks - and when I finally got to the window - the clerk told me that the person in the car in front of me had paid for my drink....awwwww - then I did the same for the person behind me! Random acts of kindness are the best! grin

Hey, feeling much better. Appointment tomorrow, follow-up, stitch removal. Not sure if I'll go back to work Wed or Mon. Been working from home via laptop/cell the entire time anyway.

How have you been my friend?

Does that prove the proverb, "Take care of the ass you chew today. It may save yours, tomorrow."?

Best thing I've ever had done for me, was an immediate apartment and time to pay the deposit. Twice. Both times were the best landlords/neighbors, ever.

I don't know if it's the best... but it's got all the makings of one of the coolest.

Today was hard. I haven't had a shower and the AC has been out. It was a day too hot to sleep & full of construction trucks & drilling noises. Both my AC & my water main were broken. Most landlords let sleeping dogs lie until the last possible second... but not mine. He's a human. He drove out & spent the whole day with me, as if to make sure I wasn't suffering alone. He even offered to buy me a hotel room for the night but I have two sick kitties right now & can't drag them into a foreign environment. So, what did he do? Everything he could. He got every workman jumping & even managed to somehow get the city water dept to send out a crew to deal with the water issue pronto.

Here it is quarter til 2am & I now have AC, running water, chicken in my tummy(he bought me food) and a case of spring water to drink... all to make sure I was comfortable. Now all this is pretty impressive, granted... but there's one more thing my land lord did to make up for all the drama...
He knew that I had wanted hard wood floors when I moved in. The floors in my place are... well, crap. The carpets suck & the wooden floors underneath were destroyed years ago. I had offered to split the cost of installing a new floor but I couldn't afford to even split the bill so it never got done. I had an interesting design in mind & doodled what the room would look like. The LL saw my doodle & we got talking about it. Well, he has outdone himself... he has just offered to foot the entire bill as a little peace offering for all the trouble I had to go through today.

...ummm... wow...
