i think it's wrong to judge anyone on how they look. It is about the kind of person they are, and how they treat others that's important wine

It's simple, don't judge people for most things and you will not be judged for most things, as well. Everyone should mind their own business.

If i am not interested in dating a person, it doesn't mean i judge them or think awful things about them. It could just mean a lack of connection (intellectual, physical or emotional). We all have preferences. People are different and are attracted to different things.

The question should be, 'do you judge the way you look'. If you are ok with yourself, then that should be the most satisfying feeling.

I personally don't mind if for example, a man doesn't want to date me because i am black, as long as they don't shove something unpleasant in my face.

Be good to yourself by being happy! thumbs up

UMMMMMMMMMMM No....It's what's on the inside that counts.....and the outside can be very deceiving at times....a nice looking or atrractive person does NOT make a good person neccesarily and vice versa!!!!!!!!!

True...
But people often do it..not just looks as what is percieved as attractive but also colour, religion etc...
A man dressed in his religious muslim attire will form a picture in a lot of peoples minds...
A black youth dressed in doof doof attire in Harlem will conquer up an image..
We are all sometimes victims of what the world has lead us to believe..

one should ever judge someone by looks else you may be passing on the best things in life. this is the reason that I choose to meet people over the internet you have a chance to learn a good deal about them and thier values and morals without having a preconcived notion about them because of thier looks.

Yes that is very true...stero-types abound...that's why I choose to learn rather than judge....I like people or dislike people based on who they are and their actions toward myself and others in general...and I am always willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason not to!!!!!!!!!!!

I would rather spend my time learning about another race or culture than hating someone because of it!!!!!!!!

wine I'm hearing you girl...we learn more..the world is the biggest classroom.
I myself am an eclectic blend of it..I even follow sufism and most people are shocked to learn it...we all seem to cast a stereotypical image and it is not surprising when people are left in bewilderment if they follow their own judgements by image alone.hug

I am a blend as well...I don't follow norms...never have and never will and I also love learning about new cultures and people....and I don't do stero-types....and people who do should be bewildered at their own shallowness.....wink hug teddy bear hug

I put "maybe" and here's why.

Yes, I'd rather have something good on the inside. Looks fade. Personality, intelligence and humor are the best of qualities I look for.

That being said....what about someone who is so repulsively "unkempt" that they are just nasty to look at? Honestly. Bad hygene leading to all sorts of stuff as a result. There's a difference between "not so good looking, but a great person" and "This guy/girl doesn't take care of themselves at all. Which could reflect what kind of person they are."

Unfortunately, it's not a clear "yes" or "no" answer for me.

And a quick blunt question for those who said "no."

Would you make out with a dirty bum on the street if they were a "nice person?"

It's also funny, how people who judge others for their own personal messed up reasons, due to paranoia, hollier than thou attitude and meddlesome behaviour, will shout the loudest that people shouldn't judge others by looks, religion, hobbies or background. yawn

These are normally the sort who are insecurely needy and will try to act like they aren't acting.

It always amazes me, how people think. confused

Isn't it funny though.....and it's also funny how ones assumptions and versions of truth can be twisted into something that looks like fact!!!!!!!

Needy...insecurity and acting are the actions of the immature....so is being rude and attempting to make others look bad...in fact they are the actions of a teen...My 16 year old daughter has more class and respect for peope!!!!!!!!!!!

Who decides what is fit to be judged between looks, religion, culture, education, profession, likes, dislikes.......i could go on for ever.

Thing is, i clearly emphasise my reason for not wanting to be with someone for whatever reason because i'd rather be honest with myself and them, than live a lie or ignore the truth, to please them.

Example: I do NOT get along well, with reserved, quiet men. That is why i don't date men from around me. Putting us together, would be a disaster and if someone calls me judgemental because of that, then i would not really care, because they will not be there to pick up the pieces, of the lie they want me to lead.

In short, i will not judge a man beause of deformity but i will chose a man whose personality matches/compliments mine and understands me. If culture and religion will hinder that, then i will NOT attempt to take the risk. It's called preference, isn't that what it's all about?

I may be unattractive to one man, but hot to another. Let's not worry about such subjective things. Let's be comfortable within ourselves, to attract the same.
