I've written a bunch of papers on this topic. It's good for a history lesson. Rather thatn rely on faith, I prefer fact, and proofs.

I respect those that have faith and can adhere to it (without preaching and attacking--cause I'll bite right back) But I for one, can't find enough "proof" to go that way.

Actually, I've often been amazed at "blind faith". What leads people to it. Is it fear? Or what??
And I'm not convinced by the Christian version of god as expressed by the faith that I was born into, so I just don't believe it.
Simple.
I figure if I'm wrong after all, and there is a Christian God, he'll know, having created me less than "charismatic", that I was only trying to understand.....

Thanks for the link. I've seen it,as well as many others. There's so much information on the topic, there would never be enough room on this site to hold it all.

When you delve deeper into all of it (as a researcher) and look at things like the Sumerians' Cylander seals describing the solar system (planets)accurately and in order, and how they all orbit the Sun, which predates the heliocentric theory by thousands of years, you can't help but wonder how they came up with that concusion.....

Well, you're in luck...The Book of revelations eludes to the fact that it can never be too late to believe in Christ. Kind of like a disclaimer at the end of a car dealership commercial. So if we're wrong, we're still in good shape....

I personally believe in God... Not Jesus but in God, and have been enjoying these threads immensely. I personally have read a bit on Sumerians but I don’t think quite as much as you have.

POCM.INFO is a really good site on pagan/biblical comparisons.

I'll have to find you the link I read recently about the sumerians. There's a series on youtube about them.

Nephilim Rising is one and I can't remember the other one at the moment.

It has interesting thoughts, but some are a little extreme. I prefer tha actual acedemics and history behind all the old stories and fables.

I agree with you there Goose. The facts that they use are wonderful. I've always enjoyed the academics and the history. I do take some of the history with a grain of salt as with many things it can and has been distorted by some over the years.

The only thing we can do is rely on other resources of the academic research in order to get a more solid foundation of them.

really the only-well themain problem i have with these threads is the hings that are not implied but said straight out

like people of faith are unintelligent
and AFRAID?

i dunno who knows who
but so much of the way non christians characterize christians (as an example)
is just not anywhere in the neighborhood of my experience or relationship

the other thing of course that bothers me is hat they do most often become a problem in forum-and more often than not-im sad to say, because of the so called christians...

i think this shows we all may be a bit off

but i think if its worth discussing its not worth arguing about...??

i just think its not an argue topic
but sharing is always cool

i just never feel comfortable w/ a group, any group, being categorized or segregated...and its always out of ignorance
i dont care how much knowledge someo thinks thay have
if they havent had that experience i just dont think its constructive to speak as authority...

????confused

I think you're stirring. It's remained pretty academic and historically based thus far. If you wanted to get all technical, I could say a few things "straight out" as you put it.

Nothing out of ignorance here. And knowledge is what a free thinking mind uses to draw conclusions about the unexplained.

I can speak as "authority." You don't know MY experience nor anyone elses on this site. I respectfully request that you either contribute something to the thread topic or kindly step aside.

WOW I just finished watching "Nephilim Rising" that you suggested, and have to ask, have you watched that set of videos? Firstly it was put together by I am guessing some Jesus freak, who was attempting to prove something he dreamed up. I mean if you watch the news reports they are running as part of this the words are pieced together news clips placed over news footage that they don’t fit.
Now you have me wondering if you have any real evidence that you have found or if its all stuff like this. Guess this is why I avoid these type of threads because even the ones who appear to have done some real research are just as full of shit as the rest.
sigh

I know what you mean about that vid...what I got out of it was more things to look up. It got me to look up Nephilim as a historical subject and followed it into the Sumerians.

All the things I found aren't necessarily well put together but neither is the other side of the arguement. I just expand on what I find by looking into the subjects deeper. Find Key words and look for that.
