selective reading!! There is currently a thread that says "who is the funniest black man". This same person has had threads about black singers, actors, etc. This is the reason for my post!!D'oh!

Couldn't agree more ship, in some quarters its seen as veiled racism, and that makes me want tobarfing

I didn't realise talent had to be broken up into skin tones.

I agree, bloody stupid and this type of thread is insulting to anyone who ever encountered prejudice in their entire life.

If i posted this type of crap someone could take offence deliberatly, call me racist and have me removed from the site.

Makes my blood boilfrustrated

Not selective in the sense you suggest. I don't have any interest in the type of threads Gilly posts in general, so I rarely even look at them. I didn't notice this one. Still, at the same time, why get so pushed out of shape about it? I just don't see it as a big deal (his thread, or these type of questions).

Because I hate racism! And it bothers me that this is allowed in these threads.

But you, seem to take exception with anything I say...so I am not surprised by your response. I have read some of your threads, where you were not happy with things, I am simply voicing my opinion. If you don't like it...find a thread you like!

Wow, where did this come from? I may disagree with you, but I don't think I get rude about it, not intentionally anyway--maybe an attempt at humor, but I never intentionally attack anyone. I hadn't seen his thread, as I explained, and asked a serious and honest question of you about being bombarded with such questions.

I don't see why his thread is racism. I just don't. It's not a simple issue for me. Complicated and a lot of social history goes with it--the history of our society.

think that sometimes when a white person makes a statement about black people it can be viewed as a racist comment, but when a black person does it , it's viewed as ok . jmo

I am sure that if I sat here and asked questions that excluded blacks, your "liberal" mind would call me a racist!! But whatever....let's just agree not to bother each other!!frustrated

Yes, this is true. But there are complicated historical reasons for this, especially in American society. cheers
