But genders are not even safe..it is now incorrect to presume mother and father...it is correct to say parents and 'blended' family..
F**k sake I want to learn braille or sign language so I don't offend anyone.
I believe we are going through a transition, a painful, difficult evolutionary process that may take many, many generations. Why is race ever mentioned? Why is gender an issue? It is only since the 1960's that attitudes toward both have changed. And are still changing. In the spectrum of human history, that is not very long. Look at Europe only a few generations ago, how each country fought and squabbled with each other--now with the EU it is changing, evolving. The world is changing a lot now, people traveling, immigration--people are angry about immigration, but it isn't going to stop. In one or two hundred years, hell, maybe it will take a thousand, but someday we are just going to be one people--and racism, bigotry and sexism will be meaningless--if we evolve as we should, and I think we will. It doesn't hurt or injure me in the least for people of any other race, religion or whatever to single themselves out for praise when they have traditionally and historically been oppresseed, and are even currently being downtrodden--white people, my people (or 90%) of me, have been the invaders, imperlialists, colonialists, etc., for centuries and have exploited people of color and destroyed their cultures and societies--but we have not been the ones on the receiving end, not in general, and we are still not. So I am big enough to take it.
