Somebody told meonce "If you have conflict with someone, look in the mirror".

That probably won't help in your case though.
Has all the talking been done?
Does everyone see the situation from everyone else's point of view?
If management just believe that they are right then it is bad management.
If you have approached them with possible solutions that could benefit everyone, and they refused to listen, then it is time to bow out.

Fighting never resolves conflict, but compromise often does.If all that failed, then walk away knowing you did your best.

It's been talked about and the owner of the business is just doing what he wants, no change. The situation is basically over, i.e.: acceptance. I wasn't looking for advice for this particular situation, but just considering the ways in which we accept, why or why not we accept, when we should or shouldn't, etc., in general Your response addresses those questions...thanks. cheers

it has become a rare thing in todays "instant gratification" mindset that has become a plague on mankind.

Change has become the bitter enemy of many because of the sacrifice required of each involved.

Yes it is a rare thing to find someone who has such a strong belief in a principle that would sacrifice all else.

the list of great people throughout the world in history are acknowledge because of this simple fact they did not buckle/compromise under the pressure of the majority when it came to their princples or ideas of improving life or their convictions of enacting a better way.

and as those great individuals who if where alive today would tell you what they did was was anything but easy.

Is acceptance always a sell out? What if you have a family, kids, a home to consider? I'm thinking of the employees here who are established, many married to Germans but are foreigners themselves and have limited options for jobs in this area....It just seems too easy to say, chuck the job...

Portiea:This is not a difficult call if it's only job related.Providing for the loved ones is most important for a responsible person. My advice would be stick it out keep food on the table.Tell the family that you are continuing your education. This will open many doors.THEN you can easily step over or up to a higher level.

thumbs up ?? Make sense?

Well only in part. The employees where I work are all highly educated; they have limited options because they are not Germans--it's the type of work they do for an international company involving native English skills. But, again, I'm not asking for direct advice about this situation. I am wondering about the issue of acceptance. Guess I didn't make myself clear in the original post. cheers

ALSO,I think alot of times people try to fix situations they don't even understand.
I think sometimes the more I TRY TO FIX some situations, the worse they get.Sometimes,SITUATIONS don't need to be fixed, they need to be UNDERSTOOD,and if I UNDERSTAND them, the situation will often change, without the slightest effort on my part.

Acceptance isn't really about giving in, being a pushover or a doormant for others, or allowing yourself to be treated badly. It is accepting the truth of a situation, then deciding what you can or will do about it.

AS for choices,
I think I always have choices in life........AVAILABLE OPTIONS.I believe I can do whatever I WANT IN LIFE, as long as it doesn't interfere with another persons freedom.

YOU see...Living my life the way I SEE FIT is not selfish.
Demanding that other people live thier life the way I SEE FIT is selfish.

And acceptance is the answer to "all" my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find person, place, thing, or situation-some fact of my life-unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment.

Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake....

grin
