Let's forget the news for a moment and just think of the firepower this would give Hillary or John if it were true. They don't say such things because they know they would get crushed. They know it's not true and they could never defend such a position.
even the mainstream media has put this theory to bed and rightfully so. The only place you'll see this stuff now are the far right or conspiracy based web sites.

OMG Logic! dropping jaw

Well I guess we have to agree to disagree on this one, because I don't believe it's been put to bed, I believe its more of brushed under the rug, and not talked about.

This is simply not true. And BTW I am an American living in Germany. The Mormon faith outlawed multiple marriage generations ago. The official religion does not support it nor believe in it. Any groups who are practicing it are breaking Mormon law, not just the law of the land. Again, you are misinformed.

Portiea, don't waste your breath, or in this case your fingers, on this guy. There's no cure for willful ignorance.

It's amazing how you resort to indirect insults when someone doesn't agree that your right, or has a different opinion than you.

Stating that someone has made a logical point is insulting no one. Logic 101.

Okay, hypothetically, if Obama wins the democratic nomination, and, hypothetically, wins the presidential election, is it possible for race to become a non-issue and that he will be judged on his performance alone? That is, will he ever be just the president, or will he always be the black president?

Looking for thoughtful, considered, fair, and reasonable replies--Thanks

Also, please be respectful of each others' opinions...

You're right, I did do that to an extent and I apologise. handshake

There's enough disinformation being spread about all of the "popular" candidates out there for anyone to be confused as to what the "facts" truly are.
We should all have a little more understanding and search for the truth in and amongst the propaganda being spread not only about the presidential candidates but throughout life in general.
I'm not an American and I can't vote in the upcoming elections, but that doesn't mean I don't care. I've posted in several political threads here on the site and I still think Ron Paul would be the best leader that you could have out of all the choices.
The smear campaigns run by the Democrats against each other and the Republicans and vice versa are rather disgusting. What's even worse is when some group is spreading lies and possibly hatred to make one of the candidates look bad. That is deplorable and nobody should have to stand for it.

Vote for whoever you will, but do it for the right reasons!

peace

I feel that we have been and are being dooped by all of them. They tell us what we want to hear and that is all. Ex. we were told that if we elected the Dems. to the House and Senate, that they would bring the troops home, begin congressional investigations about the reasons behind Iraq, begin investigations about price gouging by oil companies and possibly look into impeachment of Bush and Cheney. None of the prior were done. Instead, the first thing that happened was campaining for the Whit House. It's all a bunch of BS. I will say that the only person that through his hat in the race that I really supported, was Gov. Bill Richardson. I really wish that more people had known about him and he had stayed in the race. At this point, someone on the Dem. side needs to drop out if they have any chance of winning the Presidency. JMO

What really bothers me about the whole war is that since we have entered Iraq it seems Osama Bin Laden has been completely forgotten about.

Well, I think he weould do well simply as a president with character, charisma and intelligence

No doubt though, he will be rembered as the first black president, should that occur - but i dont see as a rasicst angle since it would simply be the truth. Saying that, then, hopefully, he will be able to bring the poverty of the black communities to the front of Us politicas plus do the same for the poor white communities too. Health care and education in some US sates is practically non-existent and deserves attention regardless of race or colour.

Unfortunately, what i have heard in the debates on tv, seems to suggest to me that in actual fact a large nuber of white voters are actually setting him up as a patsy against Cain, as they really want him to face off against Obamam and win!!

So in this case, i think once again race is an issue in US politics!!

cheers peace
