I was doing some coke, opium, marijuana, hash when i was young well 14 years ago i've quit all this because one of my ex left me he was the one maybe with the problem and he had a bad influence on me i thank god i wasn't a long time with him to make me hocked on these drugs to have a problem

the only drugs i used now is my cigarettes a cigare once in a while
a tea or coffee once in a while too

i rarely drink alcohol i could be 3 or 4 month without drinking or a year it doesn't matter to me at all

I am a pepsi addict though but i have to cut on that because i have too much acidity in my system that i have of upset stomac i replace pepsi by seven up or ginger ale a glass of milk or juice

i was smoking 4 carton a month that's 800 cigarette now i smoke 2 carton a month 400 cigarettes a month

I am trying to be healthier each day by knowing when i smoke more is when i am in from of the comp so i try not to be in front like i was b4 instead i go for a walk and working now help me alot to stay away longer from my cigarette.

Cigarettes are my addiction. Damn them!

I like the occassional drink, weed, perhaps some coke, amphetamins but nothing in excess.

Hey, at least I am honest.

laugh

I used to have quite a dope (weed) problem..

I used to smoke it morning noon and night.. (and non stop in between)...

I have a massive missing memory chunk of those times. It's a ll a blurr really..

I used it to keep me numb to the things that were happening in my life at the time. (for MANY years)

Then one day I didn't need to be numb any more.. so I just stopped.

The strength of a persons character is not only refusing drugs...but someone that has fought their own addictions and struggled to have the ability to say no...
We all sometimes find crutches in life..something that fills that empty void that exists somewhere deep in our chest cavity..when it aches it needs nurturing..we reach for material things that give it temporary relief..band-aids..
Then we look at ourselves and realise we want to find that person that we were..the one that was fun to be around..happy..easy-going..youthful..loveable..not only by others but more importantly by ourselves..
It takes guts to say no..I applaude everyone that has..

Pot helps my backache pain leave my body after a long day at work.

A few hits from a joint in the evening and I wake up refreshed,
not the case with alcohol OR prescription meds.

I smoke so that's my only addiction.

I smoked the happy hay when I was younger. But haven't touched it in years.

I drink on weekends only cause I enjoy my wine.

This is me, except that I have a glass of wine whenever I'm in the mood for it. The mood comes and goes.

like most, I have done about all of it when I was young.

Since MJ is illegal I don't touch it, but make it legal and I will be first in line!

Quit smoking 3 months ago,, all of the rest I quit over 20 years ago.

I also find drunks very annoying, I will not step foot in a bar for any reason.. not even to shoot pool. I just can't stand being around drunk people.

Now I don't want anything that has any kind of control of me.

even after surgery..I was given Oxycodone 325mg.. says to take 2 every 4 hours, I have only taken 1 every 8 hours,( Hi tolerance for pain) total of 5. damn.. they gave me 60.

Just can't stand taking something that knocks me out.

But I drink enough coffee to sink a ship.

Whether it be alcohol, prescription pain killers, weed, speed, barbiturates....etc ? I don't expect many answers to this thread, yet It would be nice to see the human condition admitted to.

If you don't know me by now, alcohol is my burden. My doctor recently introduced me to Oxycodone, bad mix.

What the hell, we'll never meet anyway.

Something social and not only personal in all kind of addictions. Lately I mentioned to a bunch of young people a couple of experiences I had years ago with Ayahuasca during a trip deep into the rain forest (Ayahuasca is a strong shamanic drink with powerful hallucinogenic power) my audience, the youth, were so thrilled at the cool prospect of using those heavy drugs. I tried to explain to them that there was nothing like the kind of addictions from modern world in the consumption and searches of the jungle shamans, but people from cities can not usually understand this. And this assertion is true, however powerful Ayahuasca, Floripondio or San Pedro cactus are, its consumption can not be put in the same sack of drugs used by a decadent society and members. They can not even be kept as plain drugs, they can kill in the first dose (maybe in another thread it can be discussed how the shaman takes the use of all these heavy hallucinogens in the context of their wisdom and knowledge of the human nature...soemthing too far from the nasty addict we can see everywhere.)

Addictions are a normal state of the brain, and only mindfulness -in the sense of Buddhism for example- can control that.

I don't drink that much, last weekend was the first time in months that I went out and drank with my friends. I smoke again, I quit for a while. I smoked pot in college, I admit it! Unlike Bill Clinton, I inhaled!wine
