Is it that? or is it that some men don't know how to express thier feelings , because they were taught it wasn't
exceptable for a male to acknowledge these feelings in a positive way ?

It does show strength of character and I do respect that. However sometimes you would want a man to show some amount of emotion... just sometimes mind you wink

The Dog's Diary

8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!

9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite thing!

9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!

10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!

12:00 PM - Milk bones! My favorite thing!

1:00 PM - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!

3:00 PM - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!

5:00 PM - Dinner! My favorite thing!

7:00 PM - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!

8:00 PM - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!

11:00 PM - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

The Cat's Diary

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine l avishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash
or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations
perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my
strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an Attempt to
disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse
and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike
fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities.
However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little
hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed
in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear
the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to
the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to
my advanta ge.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this
again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and Snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to
be more than willing to return. He is obviously Retarded.

The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the Guards
regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have
arranged protective custody for him in an Elevated Cell, so he is safe.

For now.

Now exchange the word Dog for Male.....

And the word Cat for Female.......

Of course some are a lot deeper and think a lot more than your average Dog.

As in quite a few cases Your average cat would happily fit into the Dogs role of food, sleep, stroke....

No doubt there are quite a few that do a fine job of guilding the lilly so to speak, of either sex, the main problem I think lies in the fact that men say what they want Women to hear... and Women hear what they want to hear....

It is difficult to generalise.

As in other threads regarding male/female raltionships, there is on one rule that applies.

Yes, society as we know it has pushed the male into hiding emotions since it would be un-male to do so.

Further, and I have experienced this personally, the evolution of the female indpendence has turned the tables on etos that existed quarter of a centruy ago.

For example, in my time, it was the female who was somehow obsessed with putting the ring on the male's finger, and the male shuffling his feet on the matter.

During this last decade, I have met more young ladies panicking becasue the male was insisting on the ring......maybe it shows that the roles have been changing faster then the social demands made.....

In effect, it seems that the yong males of today are more scared of loosing out on a relationship, so they figure the best way to 'fix' that raltionship is by insisting on the ring.

This is just a simple exapmle fo what I am trying to say. men are no longer quiote sure how to handle a situation with women, they don't know were they stand, so they shuffle thier feet.......

and with that ladies, I bid you all, a very good night. Tired and have a working day tomorrow...

I have a son and a daughter, when little my son was quite, gentle and sensitive. My daughter was outgoing, bold, confident. My ex husband and i fought constanly because he felt my son was weak and not one of the boys whereas my daughter got all his attention. Guess it went back to his upbringing

Anyway sorry for rambling on

well, I'm new and this my first forum, ever. I just disappointed by a guy. I know this not objective but I just want to know why guy can't say the truth? he always keep saying one thing and act differently.. thank u for anyone who could give a reason.

To answer your question straight up....he just told you what you wanted/needed to hear so he can hold on to you. The reasons can vary and can be multiple.

He may have broke his promises because he did not want to do something or be something that you may have expected from him. When he was confronted of this by you, he more than likely smooth talked you and made more promises. You of course believed him and gave him another chance. And so the process goes around in circles to either you leave him or if he actually changes his ways and his wishes that align with yours.
Sounds like you two were not on the same page.

Saying the truth is too easy. Some of us guys get in our heads that because the truth is so easy to say the first time that we'll get in trouble for it so we make so stuff up, never realizing that that is what gets us in trouble in the first place
