I don't like the look of it, but that's personal taste--esthetics are important to me--not that my choices are completely based on esthetics, but I wouldn't have something I didn't like the look of, even if it were the right type of bed for other reasons.

Oh I understand, it’s not my favorite look either. This one was built using scraps and leftovers as just a proof of concept. The beauty is we can build it from many materials and it doesn’t have to be the box design. But I must say I get more compliments on this bead than most anything in my home. Accept maybe my hard rock maple butchers block table. But as you say, it’s very much a matter of taste.
