My mother is an angel, she has to be to live with my dad! She's not really a doormat though, she just knows when and how to ignore him.

I guess the best thing my mom taught me is that I am worth being loved.

Really, my dad isn't that bad, he's just, well ... real hard to please. I quit trying when I was 16 though, so it doesn't bother me too much!

well both of my parents were bad...and the foster parent were child abusers

Really, my dad isn't that bad, he's just, well ... real hard to please. I quit trying when I was 16 though, so it doesn't bother me too much!

Well, I'm glad for those who had wonderful parents, but I am also glad to know I'm not alone in having had some very disappointing ones--to me, mothers' day and father's day are something I try to ignore--I feel sad, more so than bitter--sad that things weren't different, and really sad for my folks who are dead now and never did get to know the real me or value the person I was and have become--their loss.
