I don't take the gender jokes from either direction seriously. And I think Hillary by virtue of her celebrity is more vulnerable than most. I don't really see Hillary as trying to be a man but I don't share your views of her being tough or aggressive either. Personally, I think she's just another politician trying to pull the wool over the publics eyes.

My humor is enjoyed by some and not by others. I think it's safe to say that you didn't enjoy this. Seriously don't like to irritate people but that's just the way I am. I don't look at women as inferior to men or viceversa but I do find humor in making fun of the different. I do believe we have become way to sensitive about such things but that's just me.

I don't see it as just a joke. If this campaign had been as full of jokes about Obama being black, demeaning him as a person of color trying to act like a white man and be president...well the situation isn't even really conceivable in this day and age...but over and over again there are jokes about her being a ball breaker, a witch, etc. and etc. Just on the basis of reason and ethics and integrity and fair play...it is offensive. Has absolutely nothing to do with what's at hand here. Saying it is just a joke is disingenuous at best, and is a response that has been given throughout history in defense of lots of prejudice and bigotry.

I am not being way to sensitive. I am simply asking why it is still okay to insult someone on the basis of their sexuality when we have finally realized it is not okay to insult someone on the basis of race. Accusing me of being oversensitive is just a rhetorical ploy and tactic--and one used by someone who is, given the guidelines and confines of logic, losing the argument.

They have made fun of Obama, calling him a muslim, etc., and jokes about McCain's age abound. That's what politics is about. Also why I don't like politicians much, and like making fun of them, no matter what sex, race, age, they are.

Well Portiea, I have said all I can really say. If you don't like them or appreciate the humor of it, then there's nothing I can do.
