It's $3.79/gal here. So what does a local paper do? They make a game out of it. The person who guess what day it will be $4.00/gal will win a prize. Nothing like making a game out of the public being screwed!!!!

May 10 gas was 3.99 in NY. on May 23rd it was 4.03 in the am, by pm it was 4.07 today it is 4.19. And I know that it it is higher in other countries. And this scares me! as it does all of us. Everytime gas goes up, so does everything else.
At the rate the price of gas goes up, soon it will cost more for a gal. of gas then what the hourly min. wage rate is. to me that is a scarry thought. But it looks to happen.
I wish someone would post a thread on ideas of how we can change this. I my self am not brilliant have very little ideas to what we can do. But there are a lot of people on CS, that have great ideas and are brilliant and change needs to start somewhere.
When you go out in the am and see the highest price ever posted at the pumps, and then return in the pm to even yet a higher price, there is drastic change needed.

Drill off shore, ANWAR, oil shale in N. Dakota...there's lots of choices, just have to get congress to get off it's ass. Really, it's not about oil, it's about environmentalist wanting to shut down the economy. If you think gas is high now, wait until OwlGore's carbon tax credit gets voted in next year. $4.00 will seem cheap.

...and sensible conservation wouldn't hurt either. applause

I guess I never understood why we feel we're entitled to cheap gas. We're 6% of the world's population using roughly 25% of the oil. confused

Sure, there's gouging by the companies, but we've got an administration that coddles this industry. Maybe GW should hit the Middle East and kiss some rings (again).

The price of fuel is going up everywhere. Here it's not just the price of petrol/diesel for road users that's going up but household fuel prices are going up too.

Here in town it has reached $3.819/gallon. Think maybe we should start to conserve.
