Ireland is beautiful, very green and pastoral and rugged too--but cold. Let's go off to those Pacific islands--got a boat?wave

I've got a favorite place--but I am not telling 'cause one reason it's a favorite is that not that many people know how wonderful it is, and I want to keep it that way--or try to. grin

For the moment maybe my favourite one is LAMPEDUSA, a small island belonging to Sicily!
I went in August 2007 - no words to describe its wonderful sea!

There was a place near home when I was a child, I lived at the back of some houses near a a place that dyed fabric, calico to be more precise and there was a series of reservoirs to help in the process - this place I loved was at the back of all of these and there used to be a single swan in residence - that was where I used to take me and a book to get away from it all - I went to look a few yrs since and they had built apartments all over my 'lone swan reservoir' - sad........

it did my head in a bit at the time for sure but, ultimately, it did help me to move on. In a long and roundabout way, it helped me to see that the only 'constant' in all of this is me laugh wave

I think that's a reality of modern life; in older times, people could count on things staying the same pretty much throughout their lifetime but that doesn't seem to be the way it is anymore. sigh

three places are of equal stature in my heart

1....Rhine Valley in Germany

2....Maggie Valley in USA

3....Colorado in USA

.....all for the same reasons. Mountains that remind me of myinsignificance to the cosmos, trees and beautiful flowers and all things beautiful, such as free running animals. And because these places echo with a calmness,a gentleness, a peacefullness that one only feels when they are one with nature. Peace that bounces back and forth between my mind and my heart interrupted only by a detour occasionally to my soul, them back to the heart and mind. I truley love the mountains. Maybe that's why I am a miserable curmudgeon of a man . I'm surrounded by water!!laugh

I have to stop all this sweet crap...I'm getting an erection!!rolling on the floor laughing
