You are talking about a system recovery not a system restore.

If you do a recovery, you go back to how the computer was when you bought it and will loose everything you have in your computer!

Please read my messages above.

WOW wow! luckily I didnt get the CD!

Pays to be lethargic at times...

My suggestion for now would be,
go to control panel, add / remove programs.
once the list is generated, remove all of the programs that you no longer use, to free up as much space as you can.

You can have a bigger hard drive installed, but they will also have to move your current system and files to the new drive.

You did remove the programs using the add/remove function in the control panel? right ? Assuming its a windows machine?

XP or Vista?Open control panel.

System.

Device Manager.

Look to see if there is any sound device listed?

If so, note down the make, model and do a search for drivers

the system restore would be easier mind you.

I am not allowed to restore the system the nice man
with the many CD's behind him warned me!!professor laugh

Yes, i did wipe'em with add/remove D'oh!

How big should a lap-tops hard drive be?

I have a C-drive which is what I gave you,
but I also have a d-drive.

Doyou want to know whats on that too?

d drive is you recovery files. it is actually a section set aside on the c drive(hard drive). but is actually all one drive.
but you cant/dont add or take away from the d drive.

I would think an 80 gig would work out pretty well for you.

You hard drive it full, you dont want to download anything unless it is to your external drive.

if you need it in detail, I can tell you how to restore to an earlier time.. no cd required.

Yes it does...You may have to go to their site and download the drivers for it so that it works again. Just check which one you have first and then download the appropriate driver

You can go into device manager , find your sound card and right click and pick update driver, but if your hard drive is too full , it may not have room to install it.blues uh oh!
