Go to lower left screen, click start, click “run”.
Type in msconfig

In the box that comes up click-
Launch system restore
Check- restore my computer to an earlier time
Click- next.
Pick a highlighted previous date on the calander to restore to and click ok.

Your computer will shut down and restart and restore when it automatically restarts.

Not scary, it is pretty easy.

Print this out first so you wont forget any of it.

Taking a chance It installed the driver, I would go to install hardware device , and click add new hardware and see if it finds it automatically and if not that way then choose let me install from a list , it won't hurt to try anyway.

HA! You are right dragonfly

Yep its the music,
but its on the ext. drive too.

Although every three months I do back ups on DVD
of everything on my ext drive.
Mostly photos and music.

What do people do if they need more space
on the drive within the laptop
for software??????? :daydream

1 have two computers.

the big computer (which is full)

and the laptop which I keep in shape, and use an external hard disk for that one as storage of big things, like videos, films, slides.

I don't keep much music there, I used the big one for that, and all the music I have in the laptop is in the big computer so I can errase as I get bored with it.

the big computer is the one that needs an extra hard disk, I don't want to loose any of the music I have there, now way.

I've removed programmes, done the back up, defrag and checked on viruses, and all it needs now is that extra big external hard disk so that I can store all the stuff there and erase almost everything in the big computer... then it will run faster, faster, faster....

super super

I'll have to get it this week, I'd better hurry or it will go on strike!

hug

If the hard drive is full, all you can do, or need to do, is to remove as much from the hard drive as you can,
save what you want - to cd's, delete what you really don't need or use anymore.
or.
If you have a small hard drive, you can get a slave drive added to your system pretty cheap. ( slave drive is just another hard drive added)
You can even get an external hard drive real cheap- just plug it into your computer.

Then save all old non- program files to the slave drive.

if the hard drive is full... MORE RAM will NOT help.

When the hard drive is full, many programs will stop working right and some will Freeze.

And don't forget to keep your temp files deleted.

Only the high lighted ones will work.Your pc will not set a restore date every day so when your box is up and running again set a restore date manually by yourself.I had to do the same today since I installed the new version of Internet Explorer. Before I did I set a restore date to be on the safe side.hug
