Only the high lighted ones will work.Your pc will not set a restore date every day so when your box is up and running again set a restore date manually by yourself.I had to do the same today since I installed the new version of Internet Explorer. Before I did I set a restore date to be on the safe side.

Just had another idea.If everything fails google Advanced Windows Care Personal from Iobit.com. Free 4 personal use. This program will most likely fix your problem.have fun sweetie.

Had to look it up on my pc.Did u pick a restore date and clicked "next" ?
From then on you should get a message asking to restore pc to your chosen date which u will click ok.That ought to do it.If it fails go on iobit website and download this program. It's free and the beston the market'I have been usingit 4 a few years and recommended it to all my friends. They were all psyched and thanked me.You will see. It's an Antivirus, problemfixer, trackeraser etc in one.One click application on this one.

I dont have much space on my C-drive still...
so I cant download a major file.

I will have to wait for my sys admin.

Also I have a fantastic virus detector
and want to run risk of getting something
that would not be compatible
with it.

But I shall ask my sys admin about it anyway. teddy bear

Uli, first and foremost, you need to clean up some space on your hard disk.

From your previous posts, it seems that you are running Windows XP. If this is the case, you have to do the following:

1. click the Start button
2. select run
3. in the resuting window type cleanmgr. a new window is opened
4, make sure the the option to compress old files is not ticked/seleted
5. press Ok

This will free some space on your disk. Once its finished, open Windows Explorer and goto \Windows\Temp, and delete all the files located in it.

Try it out and let us know how it goes.

Uli, cleanmgr (Disk Cleanup) forms part of Windows, thus it is safe to use.

Yuo run Disk Cleanup regularly and you're still getting out of space? confused

It seems that you have to uninstall some software or delete some files like videos, mp3s, pictures, etc

If I'm not mistaken, earlier you siad that you still have 2 Gb free space. Windows should still work normally with that amount of space.

Thanks for pointing it out mylife!! thumbs up

Uli goto Control Panel, then clik the System icon. Goto Hardware followed by Device Manager. Under the Sound and Audio item, do you see your soundcard? If yes, right click it and select Update Driver.

if its not under sound, do you have an item with a Question Mark icon? If yes, right click what's beneath it (it should have a question mark icon also) and select Install.
