Yuo run Disk Cleanup regularly and you're still getting out of space?

It seems that you have to uninstall some software or delete some files like videos, mp3s, pictures, etc

If I'm not mistaken, earlier you siad that you still have 2 Gb free space. Windows should still work normally with that amount of space.

Thanks for pointing it out mylife!!

Uli goto Control Panel, then clik the System icon. Goto Hardware followed by Device Manager. Under the Sound and Audio item, do you see your soundcard? If yes, right click it and select Update Driver.

if its not under sound, do you have an item with a Question Mark icon? If yes, right click what's beneath it (it should have a question mark icon also) and select Install.
You're welcome ! I had her to update driver and she said she got back realtek, so does she need to to install hardware and reinstall her sound card, if that is the file she deleted??

Its getting too complicated (please note that its 1 AM over here).

Uli, try the following:

1 goto Control Panel
2 Add New Hardware
3 Browse for Sound Cards/Audio, select it and press next
4 if prompted where to search, try the automatic option first

If this does not work. go back to the first step, but do the following for the 4th step:

4 Select browse and browse to the \Windows\System32 directory.

If this still doesn't work, there's another folder where Windows keeps a backup of system files, but I can't remember its name, and currently I'm on a Linux laptop, thus don't have access to Windows.

Can somebody point out this directory please?

So goto setp 1 again, and in the 4th step select the sound card and point to the Windows dll backup folder, if somebody points it out.

A final option is to go to Windows Update, but select the Manual option, not the Express one. See if your sound card is listed under hardware on teh left of the screen.

Hope that this helps you out!!

I'm off for today, if you have not solved the problem by tomorrow evening. I'll try to help you out, but this time round I'll be on a Windows PC.

g'nite wave
