Why is it that some people think that if they keep up with the Jone's they are accomplishing something in life?

Sure it would be great to have it all, but I think I would rather spend my money enjoying life and not looking at what I have .

can anybody make me understand why people have the need for fancy cars, huge houses, fancy clothes and they never have money for anything else? dunno confused

Don't know, but think it suggests psychological issues, some kind of emptiness inside...but this kind of thing propells a lot of people to do stuff, like over eat, sexual conquests, gambling, etc.
