Never smoked it as a kid. I had an older brother that did and he couldn't control himself very well. Kept trying stronger and stronger drugs until it really screwed him up. So my experimentation as a teenager was thwarted out of fear. Probably a smart thing too since my family tree is full of easily addicitive people.

As an adult, I've always been in a job that does drug testing and it's not worth losing my job. I used to say the moment I retire I was going to go buy some just to see what the thrill was but I've gone without for this long, I guess I can do without till the end.

It's kind of ironic that with my screen name a lot of people think it refers to drugs, of course if they knew about old Rock & Roll music they would know it's the name of a song by Roy Orbison. It's a cross I have to bear cause nobody is going to induce me to change my name.

I did try wacky weed back in the 60's but didn't much care for it. I never even smoked cigarettes so inhaling smoke from a joint didn't sit too well with me. The thought of bringing smoke into my lungs is a totally outrageous concept to me. I just don't think mammals were meant to breath smoke.

To the OP, your screenname says it all.

AHA.....

the most interesting of discussion happen to be all about Sex And Drugs And Rock And Roll.......

Read throu all the posts....some are very true, some are ablanced, some are factual, others are paranoid, some are blatantly stupidly ignorant.....

So? Am I supposed to be a depressed, mental, psycothic bundle of nerves?

Met with dope a loooooooooooong time ago. Talking about 36 years ago!!!!!!! Smoked ever since.....Never became dependant, never overdosed, never inclined to heavier drugs, and certainly more chilled out then a lot of people around here seem to be.....

Don't really bother to smoke regularly anymore, got other priorities and don't really have the time, BUT, if I were to have a nice evening with friends I'd rather enjoy a good bottle of wine and a couple of joints then get drunk on alcohol. U don't have hangovers in the morning.

Like all the good things in life however, it's all about balance. Overdoing it is always bad for u. If u eat too much cake, u puke. If u drink too much, u conk out. If u screw too much, u get sore. If u smoke too much dope, it ain't good for u either.

Balance, it's all about balance.

Just a quick note Skunk is a hybrid and comes in male and female plants. Females produce more thc and cbd. It, depending on breeds has more Sativa in it so its alot more psychoactive but its not the strongest. A bit of cannabis 101.

They're all hybrids nowadays. I doubt you would find many "heirloom" strains left in North America. At least not for sale in a baggie.laugh

I'm pretty thick sometimes. I never made that connection with your name and pot or Roy Orbison but now that you mention it...

Could have used your wisdom on smoking when I was younger. Like I said, I'm pretty thick sometimes but I do eventually catch on. 6 weeks and counting...

I have a joint most days and have done so for 40 yrs next yr. I especially like a joint on days where Im particularly stressed but it has been of most help recently in keeping my mind focussed on various essays - its been brilliant too for honing my attention on various subjects during my foray into academia.

I like a few beers too but am wise enough to know which of these two substances leave me feeling ill in the morning - and it isnt the weed wine

But having just said what I have, I do worry about younger people who seem to know no restraints - I never did like smoking all day every day myself and have always wondered at those who chose to spend 24/7 smoking - but I guess that in other communities people fall foul of drinking 24/7 too - no matter what the substance, if a person is of an addictive or abusice nature then they are going to be that way whichever comapany they choose to keep dunno

I used to write a lot.. and I always wrote better after a smoke.

I used to love getting to the end of the day.. house all sorted.. kids in bed.. and a lurrrvely spliff.

But (for me)... it ended up completely out of control.. morning noon and night and in EVERY rollie in between.. from the first to the last.. (for years) THAT was not good. Although I think it was the circumstance I was in at the time.. neeeeeeeding to be 'numb' ... I miss it though.. the evening thing.

I do that even without children - I enjoy a recreational smoke but if Im doing essays I will have one earlier in the day............

I used to love getting the kids to bed and then a glass of wine or two and whatever nice smoke was around at the time - I miss the days of getting special bits of smoke from all over the world - in my opinion, it was the toughening up on the imports of smoke that fed the movement to make stronger strains - its all wrapped up in politics too - marijuana is a good cure for lots of ills (Pharmaceutical Industry) and the rope made from it was threatening the plasitics industry (Du Pont) there was then as there is now - money pushing political machinations thumbs up

yep, that circumstance can be a bummer cant it and I have had my times of smoking lots too but it doesnt meen its going to be that way forever and is sure as heck an easier way to get to grips with reality than waking up one morning with a full blown alcohol or herion addiction thumbs up
