It is legal here in OUR province of Nova Scotia. Rosie O'Donnel and Kelly got married here. I don't care as long as everyone is happy. I understand why they want to get married for the legal reasons especially. I never knew the gay partners never had rights over legal issues until this happened.

i support gay marriage. I also support assisted suicide for very similar reasons.....

Everyone should have the right to find out what marrying the wrong person is like. It's like getting chicken pox. You only need to do it once and your over it.

Some gay couples, lots probably, stay together as long or longer than hetereosexual couples--so it only makes sense they should have the same legal rights and same societal respect.

Why not??? Being raised by gay parents doesn't make you gay, being raised by blind parents doesn't make you blind, being raised by deaf parents doesn't make you gay....

If you find it an acceptable lifestyle, how does it become unacceptable for them to raise children? A good parent is a good parent..... It's the person, the people, not their sexuality that defines the quality of life a child will lead.

No-no Portiea....I was not implying that.

I never said anything about it being unacceptable, I just said I don't think it's a good idea. I can only imagine the ridicule the kid would go through. The child would sure have an uphill battle....even in California.

Sure the child would have loving parents whether they were a gay or lesbian couple. I am not denying that. It is just too radical of a thought just now. Lets just let the gay/lesbian marriage be for a while so society can get used to it, and when the issue comes up (it will), then we can take it from there. Our society is still having problems with racism and gay/lesbian marriages right now, so I can only imagine the uproar with a gay/lesbian trying to adopt a child.

To be honest, I just don't think it is a very natural thing in a cosmic/mother nature sense. I would never oppose the idea, I just don't think it is a good one imo.
Besides, what teenager want to be woken up at night by two men having vigorous sexing....ewww!

I'm getting a visual........didn't someone say something about assissted suicide???
rolling on the floor laughing sticking out tongue

Just kidding...it's all about consenting adults!! The sect of fundementalist Baptist I was associated with taught that oral sex was a sin..........notice I said "was associated with". Too many people feel it is their calling to sit in judgement of others.

In Heaven God will judge us,,(if you believe this)...but in America we are judged by the Constitution of the United States of America....which says ALL men are equal and endowed with certain inalienable rifgts, Among those are life LIBERTY and the pursuit of happiness. This is not a direct quote...but a paraphrase!
