Hell yes it's okay. However, when you jump from a 10 story building w/a towel around you neck for a cape, don't expect to fly.

BUT, I've seen enough people who put on a fake front to try and impress people and gain friendships, some even have the skill polished off to a fine art.......... and that's just on here

In certain "must-emergency" situations, YES! Your damn right it is okay to pretend if you really need to accomplish a certain agenda, get capital for a certain business or personal endeavor, or to gain access to something that would really make life easier with a certain project.

It surely is not okay to pretend to make new friends or get closer to somebody you may fancy, cause it will just blow up in your face down the road. And the person who will be most angry will be you...for lying to yourself.
