was expecting that......

rolling on the floor laughing

but true.....it is a gentleman's preragative to give a woman all the time she requires....maybe it's too 'british' for a lot of people, but I do believe in etiquette....and treating women right....

ok so someone on here actually contacted me today with a flower box note and his phone number and asked me out for coffee... which is really sweet but I'm shy and I felt I needed more time. So I put it on the shelf to think about it for a few hours... when i come back here tonight after work I found a sour grapes note "so I guess your not interested, that sucks" and find out I'm blocked.

So I am just sitting here feeling kinda weird about it.... did I do something wrong or did I just dodge a bullet?

Surely dodged a bullet. Your intuition guided you in the right way. Plus that dude is mental if he is going to get all mental over something like that...silly men.

I only check my mailbox/flowerbox a few times a week -- I don't sit here and watch the screen 24/7 for activity. It is called "having a life." When I am on the road and offline, it can be a week between mail checks of any kind. I always give folks a week or two to respond. If your flower giver is so impatient that he expects instant gratification, he has issues. That behavior spells troubles in capital letters, backlit with neon. Yes, you dodged the bullet.

you did nothing wrong, some people does not the meaning of the word patience and they think that they can get what they want immediately, dont feel sorry for yourself its time he learns that when interacting with others its not only about yourself and your needs but what others think and feel, and never jump to conclusions

the system shows when people read their e-mail
he realized the mail was read but no answer

for those that started bashing him, have you ever consider what could be in his mind?

so let me share things that i have seen (male perspective) in dating sites, but before you start bashing me, read till the end

CS as a dating site is way much better than the others, altught i have seen people asking to have more memebers, i prefer a small number but all of good quality

in the big datins sites, it was so common for me to get a mail (flirt)
i am way to slow, i try to read and get more of the person before answer her
when i was not answering fast enought i wil get that kind of behaviour, she complaining i am not interested
if i answer "on time" and by the second mail i was not ready to fix a date then i was a player

if he is a new one here, with those kind of experiences, his behaviour seems to be normal for him

please dont undertand me wrong, i am ont saying that what he did was right, just trying to explain what could be in his mind

I don't think you did anything wrong. Can think of 2 reasons he acted this way.

He felt embarressed and thought it was a rejection.

He just has no patience, expected instant response

well slap my bum and pickle my nuts! i actually find myself agreeing with alex 192. (never thought i'd ever say THAT!).

firstly, moonfoxinthesnow you did nothing wrong........BUT..........if he'd checked and saw you'd opened his mail and never replied, chances are he may have thought you deliberately ignored his mail and had no intention of ever replying, in which case he may have been offended. i guess i can kinda understand if that were indeed the case. not the way i'd have handled it but then, i don't often send people mail cos i'm an unsociable, grumpy scot with a spotty bum. sticking out tongue
