Obama vs Clinton has been a very big issue on this forum as of late, and our Obama supporter have even on occasion gotten rather nasty.
I couldn't help asking how the Obama supporters feel about this election being fixed? Let me explain; during this election to pick a democratic candidate the news has been pushing Obama, The state of Florida and Michigan's vote in this election have been disregarded and are not being counted. I could understand making Michigan vote again because Obama was left out of their vote, but Florida was a fair vote and Clinton took the state by a landslide, two days later it was announced that Florida had begun their elections two days early so they would not be counted.
Let me add that with Michigan and Florida's votes Clinton would have taken this election by a landslide. What are your thoughts?

Let me add this is not a support or bashing thread for either so please keep that in another thread.

I haven't been following the election except in a very vague way--don't know anything about this. Who would fix the election? If this is true, why isn't the press making more out of it, or why are Clinton supporters making more out of it?

Don't start giving ideas about things being fixed because it isn't. If Florida and Michigan didnot follow the rules, then the President of the Democractic Party, according to the Voting rules, "setting up too early" would result in those votes being disregarded, .... accordingly both Democratic candidates had agreed to do so....until now, someone want to have them counted......who do you think that would be?
If you want to talk about fix ,lets talk about those shard ballots that caused lots of problems in years gone by.....is it possible that Al Gore should have been the President today?

Florida broke the rules. It's that simple. They had a date for their primary. They moved it up a couple days, thus, breaking the rules.

That's why florida doesn't count.

These rules are in place so that no one can cheat. If the date of a primary can "float" that would be very unfair, usually to just one candidate.

Say, a news story or video, showing Obama punching a baby had been captured on thursday. The primary takes place on Tuesday.

The state of Florida decides for one reason or another to move the date of the primary vote to Friday.

That would be very unfair for states to be able to do that.

That's why they're not allowed to chance the date of the primary vote.

Are you saying that's it's too late for the people in this country to do anything positive?

I mean, honestly? Is it too late, i could go out my door right now and do some awful thing, and it doen'st matter? we're all screwed ayway?

I don't believe that. I think what we do does matter. And i think change will happen, as it always does.

You have made a interesting point here. Why DID Florida set up early if they knew it would invalidate the votes? Surely someone knew this! So I am inlcined to agree with you. This sure does bring back bad memories of what happened to Al Gore. This election year has been interesting for sure. I also think the media is pushing Obama and I get the distinct impression that they are against Hillary. Also, there are still racist out there who do not want Obama as President and I have a terrible feeling that if he is the nominee or even elected President, some hot headed racist will take matters into their own hands and either attempt assasination or actually carry it out. Remember Bobby Kennedy? We have come a long way since the civil rights riots of the 50's and 60's but not nearly far enough. I only pray that we are not destined for another civil rights war. I just don't think the United States is ready for a black man to be President. I don't consider myself a Democrat or Republican, I vote for the person I think will do the best job and I can't say that about Obama because I don't think he can do it. We don't know how he is planning to make these changes he is always talking about. I have read and commented in a lot of these Obama threads and some of them are getting a little hostile and mean spirited, so it scares me a little to think about what is coming.

It's a tough call - were the situation inversed, I suspect Obama would be calling for them to count, and Hillary would probably not be decrying that every Democrat be heard. Rules are rules I guess. It is what it is. smoking

This will be the first election in history that will not be decided by a 50 state vote.
Also just wondering if anyone knows, when did Puerto Rico begin having a vote in our election? They have always been under our support and protection but they have always been a independent entity as far as I knew.
As for it being disputed Hillary has been fighting to get the votes counted so it was not a mutual agreement between candidates.

Do you know how many past President and prominent white men has had a trickle or two of black heritage in them......how many had a black cook in the kitchen, cooking some collards green and pigs feet? Do you know how many had been breast fed as babies, by black wet nurses? It's the best thing that ever happen to America......Ready, set Go Obama!

UH yessssss, I am fully aware of that fact, I wasn't refering to the trickle of black blood in most of us...I have black blood in my veins from a great great great grandmother, yet you would never know it from looking at my skin. and my father had a black wetnurse. I am only pointing out the simple truth that there are too many back woods rednecks out there who don't think like normal people. I don't want to see the things that Might happen in America if Obama becomes President.

Maybe I’m a little short sighted but I like to think it’s not a black, white issue. I think what cost Obama votes was the religious ties he was claimed to be attached to, whether they are true or not, I think that was a large issue.

You are right, I think it is the religion thing also, but somewhere in the equation, the black white evil head rises.

Just in jest - was with regard to the evil head...handshake

If what I just saw on the tube is correct (not saying it's right or wrong), but it was stated that if Hillary were given her delegates in Michigan and Florida, at this juncture, she'd still have to win 65% of the remaining delegates. Certainly in a better position, but would not have won it (yet). Of course, that does not take the potential momentum from those states into consideration.
