If what I just saw on the tube is correct (not saying it's right or wrong), but it was stated that if Hillary were given her delegates in Michigan and Florida, at this juncture, she'd still have to win 65% of the remaining delegates. Certainly in a better position, but would not have won it (yet). Of course, that does not take the potential momentum from those states into consideration.

Maybe I’m a little short sighted but I like to think it’s not a black, white issue. I think what cost Obama votes was the religious ties he was claimed to be attached to, whether they are true or not, I think that was a large issue.

In some ways someone wanted that pastor message to mean something more than it is. Ironically, that same pastor was called for advise and prayer when Clinton was President, and at a time when the President had a scandal brewing so hot that it was alleged he said, "I have sinned".

Obama vs Clinton has been a very big issue on this forum as of late, and our Obama supporter have even on occasion gotten rather nasty.
I couldn't help asking how the Obama supporters feel about this election being fixed? Let me explain; during this election to pick a democratic candidate the news has been pushing Obama, The state of Florida and Michigan's vote in this election have been disregarded and are not being counted. I could understand making Michigan vote again because Obama was left out of their vote, but Florida was a fair vote and Clinton took the state by a landslide, two days later it was announced that Florida had begun their elections two days early so they would not be counted.
Let me add that with Michigan and Florida's votes Clinton would have taken this election by a landslide. What are your thoughts? Let me add this is not a support or bashing thread for either so please keep that in another thread.

Not quite correct,
MI. & FL bath new beforehand that the elections there wouldn't count if early but did it anyway!!
and it was all over the news ahead of time.

This was the agreement ahead of time and both Obama and Clinton agreed to it, even Clinton was fine with it till she started falling behind.
Then she started screaming that she wants them to count,
Just more of the same BS Clinton games.
In my opinion, this just makes her look even worse.

Politics is a scam. No matter who wins, our country has lost so much to ever recover. The question really is.....Who is the better of the evils? I'm digusted with the whole thing! Even when I think about this I start to get a migraine! So, I'm done....... Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.

I agree,
Should be elected by popular vote, not by a middle man!

I didn't watch any of this stuff till things started getting heated. Whether they were warned or not, it's still not right to not count all the votes. Make them revote at the states expense. There are always other options.

You are so right,
Why follow any rules?D'oh!

these states were not debated because of their decision.
therefore their votes are unfair and invalid.

I never post on political forums. But here I go.

I have long given up on caring about politics, the electoral process and the media. I do still vote and I do have a couple of issues I care deeply about. But everything else, I really don't care about.

Contrary to some on CS who claim the USA is a horrible country, I believe I am blessed to be born here and live in the greatest country on Earth. No country is without problems, even the US, but I like to focus on the positive. It is easy to be negative, but why bother? It just makes a person more cynical and I for one cannot afford to add to my already deep depression from bipolar disease.

So I try to live my life like there is no Washington DC. Anything they do there really doesn't affect too many lives in this country. We are fortunate to be such a successful country DESPITE our government. Don't get me wrong...the government does some wonderful things. But I don't hinge my happiness on it.

If you care about politics, I applaud you. Our military has fought many wars to protect our freedom and I respect that very much. That is why I pay homage to the fallen heroes of this country by voting. Obama, Clinton, McCain makes no difference to me these days. What really matters is how the rest of us takes care of each other through our own good deeds. Something the media of this country would like us all to forget. They report how bad we all have it and want things to be as chaotic as possible. Turn off the news for a month and see how much calmer you feel.

You can agree with me or disagree...that is one beautiful thing about this country!! God Bless us all!!

Who made the rules? They knew what would happen if they went early. Who will pick up this tab, should they vote again?

No - the USA is NOT finished; however you will take time to recuperate from economic factors that have been building up over many years.

The USA will now have to make some real changes to catch up with the standard of living in most Western countries.

You live in an extremely unequal country where the rich have got immensely richer and the poor have hardly moved in the last decade or so.

There is less social mobility in 'The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave' than in any civilised country on this planet.

Americans still, just about, believe that they can obtain 'The American Dream' - any US citizen can at least aspire to become President of what is still the most powerful country in the world, but the dream of having 'the good life' is becoming harder and harder for a larger and larger percentage of Americans.

Maybe the US has begun punching above its weight........... the enormous cost of maintaining AND using a huge military 'machine' is taking its toll - your national debt just grows and grows when it now needs to reduce.

Americans quit saving years ago. You guys have mostly lived off cheap imports and 'burnt' the equity you had in property.

The US dollar was grossly overvalued.

A weak dollar has helped push up the price of oil, but if the main oil producers decide to fix the price of oil in another currency (i.e. the euro) then the dollar will tumble really fast - and that is not good for either you or the rest of the world.

It's going to be tough in the USA for at least several years to come, but your country shall adapt and things will eventually get better.

However, like any great nation/civilisation in the past, your days as 'the best' are surely numbered.

My advice?

Applt to join the EU! The EU changed it's name several times already...... we can consider accommodating non-European countries such as Turkey - why not the USA too?

All the EU has to do is change its name yet again from 'The European Union' to 'The Union'.

Once you join all your citizens will be forced to have a decent welfare system and longer vacations - you'll be poorer but happier!

grin cool wine

UH yessssss, I am fully aware of that fact, I wasn't refering to the trickle of black blood in most of us...I have black blood in my veins from a great great great grandmother, yet you would never know it from looking at my skin. and my father had a black wetnurse. I am only pointing out the simple truth that there are too many back woods rednecks out there who don't think like normal people. I don't want to see the things that Might happen in America if Obama becomes President.

Being one of those living in the back woods, i have to say that there are more than a few of us hay-chewing rednecks that have voted for Obama in our primary and plan to vote for him as president as soon as Hillary's head exploads.

I think the push toward changing things will override the old, white, cold-war idiots perhaps just once.

I don't see where the state should pay for it. It was the party that f-cked it up.

Just a humble opinion.
