Do we not all make foolish mistakes? For all the Christians on CS, remember the basis for our faith. Jesus taught forgiveness. I would not wish brain cancer on anyone, no matter who they are, we are all on this earth as brothers and sisters. Yes, let he that is without sin cast the first stone...INDEED. Thank you Joanie and Portiea. I agree whole heartedly. My prayers are with the Senator and the Kennedy family. May God bless them.

Quite ironic, coming from a person who compares human races to species of birds and thinking it wrong to mix them. rolling eyes
Yeah, i remember your profound christianity. D'oh!

I still hope someone you love, falls in love with a person from a different race and gives you hundreds of grandchildren.

That has already happened and I love this child with all my heart, but I still think the races should stay pure. I am not condeming, just voicing my oinion. As I stated before, I am a decendant of a black slave.

Maybe where you live it is accepted, but I have seen the cruelty of other children against my grandchild because she is of mixed race. I have seen the hurt in her eyes when she asks me why they are mean to her. When she tells me someone called her the "n" word it tears my heart out. I wouldn't wish that kind of thing on anyone no matter what their heritage is.

I have mixed race cousins who grew up in Kenya and the UK. They never faced that at home, haven't heard them complain about England, but i wouldn't know as we don't talk that often.

I would however recommend, that you don't talk of how wrong it is to mix races, in the presence of your grandchild, however good your intentions are. You wouldn't want her to think she was a mistake, now would you?

I have never, or would I ever say anything to her or in front of her about my own personal opinion about mixing the races. I just made a comment, I do not get on a soap box and preach against it.

I am not the monster you apparently think I am, and if I offended anyone in this forum, I apologize.

I had some professional contact in the late 1980s with Senator Kennedy and his staff.

What was being discussed was a National Health Air Service for our country. It would use high performance military aircraft and former military pilots to move human tissues (hearts, lungs, kidneys) around the country faster than our air carriers could. At the time, it would take 6+ hours to move a heart from coast to coast. With military aircraft, we could do it in about half that time.

Then to do a open heart transplant, with that long of transit time. They would literally open the recieptant chest cavity for several hours prior, place him on a heart lung maching and hope the organ arrived in time. Cutting even 3 hours from the transit time was felt critical to saving his/her life. It would allow them to open the chest cavity only after the heart had arrived. Shorten the overall time length of the transplant operation. Critical to saving the life.

There were other issues of legal drug transit and security, illegal human organ trafficing, and other such things that were involved.
Things that were a concern then for our medical services that could be solved by such a National Health Air Service dedicated to this kind of logistics flying.

Eventually there was a new drug developed that extended the life of human issues. So the plan was shelved. But Kennedy and his staff were open to the idea of providing such a service to all Americans in need of the fast transit of such human tissues for transplants.

He might have made a horrible mistake that night. But he was trying to improve the lives of many Americans by being open to new ideas in health care for us.

So I say get well, Teddy. God Bless.

I was talking about an 8 year old child. I'm guessing that adults have heard all of this before, and as I said, I'm only voicing my opinion and nothing else..I am entitled to that just as you and everyone else is entitled to their opinions. I am not trying to be mean or hateful as some others have been. Why am I being persecuted for having an opinion? If those people don't like it, I'm sorry, but it won't change the way I feel about it.
In some countries, people are murdered for marrying outside their race or sect. Not too long ago, there were 16 states here in the US where it was illegal to intermarry, and people were put in jail for it. There are still a few of those states around. In the state of Louisiana, if you have only a very small percent of black blood, you had to be listed as black on your birth certificate even if you were a blue eyed natural blond..and racial prejudice is rampant in that state.
the times are changing but they are not changing fast enough. I don't care if someone is black, white, red, pink, or purple polka dotted, we are all human beings. I was only saying that your heritage is the most important thing and I feel like it should be preserved. I don't give a rats ass if they don't want to preserve it.

Besides, this thread was about someone having brain cancer.

D'oh! D'oh! rolling eyes rolling eyes
