"It makes me laugh when I see people in frisky poses or 'exposing' themselves on a dating site.

I'm not talking about more natural at the beach pics etc.. I do think those are different. But when they are deliberately 'Staged' to look sexy... I think it looks abit pathetic and desperate really. . Like look look what I can try to tempt you with.. " quoted

LOL! Staged....as in the dozens of posed shots of women sitting or lying on a bed, usually a double sized. with either 'lounge wear' or
'nightwear'...always open at the top for cleavage effects...LOL!
That is one style of pose, I haven't seen from any male. The visual message is clear; all short phrases such as 'here I am, come and get me', 'aren't I sexy...', etc. etc.. many of the poses belong on 'adult sites' they are so contrived; same with the no shirts variety of the males. What fragile egos that such poses are needed by either. They want...crave attention: 'flash-in-the-pan' quickie style relationships not stable, healthy ones, as has become clear over the years. One would presume to think that they themselves may see their poses as self demeaning, but no, their understanding seems to understand that sexually posed photos are somehow vital to finding whatever they are seeking, as a stable relationship, but they send the wrong message or they actually do have insufferable egos....IMO

Well men do it too.

I am a bit concerned. I didn't start this thread with the intention of harshly criticizing anyone. I can see now how it would go that way....but didn't intend it to. The bottom line is that different people see things differently. For many, i think, these pictures represent sexuality, sensuality, beauty, etc. Certainly these type of photos get very high ratings on the photo rating feature. So, more people than not seem to find them appealing. Perhaps we are being too judgemental, even smug (not directing this at you, Solitaire, or any individual). dunno

The mysteriousness of one picture is far more interesting and exciting, than a naked parts of the body, as breasts or the arse, for example.

Why do people put up pictures with naked body parts (chests for men, lots of revealing cleavage for women) or sexy poses?

Is it a good idea? Does it attract people who have serious intentions, or does it attract people who are mostly interested in sex?I honestly don't know but wonder if too sexy pictures of women attract men who are mainly interested in sex and men showing off without a shirt don't attract women who are looking for some relationship material..What do you think?

eh......stupid I thinks.....to each their own...

well i can't speak for all the other guys on here but i love a woman showing a bit of cleavage. what i DON'T understand is women who go out dressed in low cut, revealing dresses then get pissed when guys look down their boobs. i don't think women actually realise how uncomfortable it makes some men who just can't help themselves and have great difficulty in looking elsewhere lol
